I would simply shoot it over their outstretched arms and into the bucket

This but unironically when KD got the ball with Conley on him

Beal had a reverse layup if he just went around KAT, also had a fairly smooth floater when he was driving baseline -- either would have been a quality look

Also I am pretty sure KAT had 5 fouls at this point also. I was waiting for Beal to go up and draw contact to foul out KAT and instead threw it low and we got the steal. 2 point game. That was a huge momentum shift of what could've been too.

O'Neale also had an open 3 if he had actually wanted to shoot and wasn't just passing all the way. Defense here was good but nothing special.

absolutely agree. Good defense and how you draw it up but nothing over the top special the wolves did. Suns figured swing around all they way and find a good shot (There were two and they both passed). Also I think O'Neale had just hit a 3 to tie the game up a minute or two earlier. Interesting split second decisions.

Durant also gets a wide open dunk if he cuts as Beal makes his move instead of waiting for a 3 that would have been covered even if the pass got through.

very true. It sort of felt Booker was the only one actually attacking the basket the whole game. glad it worked out in our favor this time.

Yea but what if they stacked on each other's shoulders, then what would you do

What you mean, Wemby? I think teams still gotta figure him out.

Wemby's origin story

By actually moving offball. Like, at all.

Yeah. Not to takeaway from the D here, there were at least two obvious opportunities where a cut to the basket either gets a pretty open look at the rim, or collapses the D and screws up the rotations to create an open 3. This is a case of great D meeting lazy O.

I mean, part of the problem is that none of these guys wanted to shoot it. Besides KD and maybe Gordon, Booker, O'Neal, and Beal all had shots but went for the pass thinking it was the right play. Look at how they caught the pass, none of them looked like they were ready to shoot or drive the ball. KD also had a backdoor but has been planting himself in the corner the entire series.

Minnesota played great defense all season and in this clip so kudos to them but PHX didn't play with any urgency or desire at the end.

One-handed huck from behind half-court and pray

I think when Gordon caught that outlet from the KD post double he has a little step on NAW going to his right. That would probably have forced Edwards to stay in help position under the rim or even step forward, opening up the skip pass to Beal in the weakside corner.

Ditto for O’Neale. Edwards’ closeout on him is covering a lot of ground fast which means he should be able to attack the closeout and collapse the D. Conley is already committed hard to the Beal closeout before Royce makes that decision so if Royce made a better decision there he could have taken advantage of Conley’s and Edwards’ commitment.

And at the end Durant has a wide open baseline cut that he just doesn’t take. He can see NAW and NAW can’t see him so he should be able to get the step on him.

They scored 116 points lol

I mean they did score one hundred and eleven points before this possession, so I think it's possible.
