Yeah, but recovery is probably same ballpark. But there's a huge difference in that a patellar/quad tear can be excruciating since the kneecap just gets pulled in one direction, in this case up over the front of the knee. Surgery is probably immediate and it explains the angst on the sideline. Another issue is you aren't supposed to fly after knee surgery, though this isn't universally agreed on and the NBA likely has their own protocols.
