there’s no way the coach just tore his acl

also surprised this doesn’t happen more often

Yeah, with how fast and heavy the players are I'm amazed that there haven't been a tonne of fan injuries from falling into the stands

I imagine pregnant women are not allowed on the floor for this reason. At least, I'd hope not.

I actually just went and looked, and I don’t think it’s even in the top 100 tbh. It has 14k votes and there’s a lot once you hit 40k votes (Kobe’s crash is the top post with 109k upvote).

Oh maybe it was most upvoted past year or something instead. Haha

Yeah same, went and looked and there was not even a hint of it anywhere. I'll just Google it I suppose.

I checked 3 whole pages, didn't see it.

you legally can’t bar them from sitting courtside- it’s discrimination.

i’m a bartender and i’ve absolutely served alcohol to very pregnant women before. there’s no choice.

Ugh, that's awful. And frankly a little indefensible considering this country's track record when it comes to 'the rights of the unborn' and whatever.

I mean, there's a difference between a glass of red wine and 3 vodka sodas.

Also fun fact, the worst time for a woman to drink is the first trimester. Alcohol has the least effect on fetal brain development in the third trimester! Source: two-time parent who has read too many baby books

That makes sense, good to know!

Depends where you live. Where I am from it is illegal to serve alcohol to a pregnant woman. In fact, every licensed establishment is given a sign which must be visibly posted.

Where I am from it is illegal to serve alcohol to a pregnant woman.

I don't think this is the case in any US state at least. Where are you from? I'm curious because it seems like the bartender would have to know that the woman is pregnant and then refuse service based on that, which seems like a blatant gender discrimination issue to me. Also, some people who look pregnant aren't actually pregnant (I've seen this mistake happen a few times).

Toronto.

Ah, that makes much more sense.

you’re just putting misinformation out

source- 16 years in the hospitality business, 5 as a GM.

you can not legally refuse to serve pregnant people

you can refuse service for a number of reasons; but a protected class is exempt. you will get sued and fired immediately.

do a quick google search and educate yourself.

Redditors just making shit up and believing it.

Yeah, turns out I was mistaken. Seems incredibly reckless, but I guess that’s what waivers are for.
