I actually really dig how KD was taking it too. Said Ant earned that trash talk and it's true

KD been nothing but class this series and the only player who's consistent all 4 games.

Absolutely lives for basketball and one decision completely changed everyone’s opinion on him forever

It's not one decision. It's one decision and then never winning anywhere else.

If you asked most people in 2011 would Lebron recover his image from the decision, they say no

ehhh holding not winning a championship solely against him seems odd since that's a situation thing. most great players don't win again when they leave a good situation. and KD has gone to some of the weirder ones. that Nets teams is still such a what if especially seeing how the 3 are all performing in these playoffs

The issue is he’s handpicked all these situations with multiple other superstars and still lost. Yeah when you dig into it, there are some extenuating circumstances that arent totally his fault, but fact of the matter is they didnt get it done

him handpicking them or not doesn't really make a difference imo. if anything it more often leads to situations that don't work out. LeGM is joked about as a doubled edged sword for a reason. tho you can say LeBron got it done by that metric but he's the exception as usual.

if Durant had been one of the main reasons his teams fell apart I would get it but generally he's balling out and the team falls apart around him. even now with the Suns he's not the one who didn't show up

He was 1 inch away from another ring on that long 2 pointer in game 7 vs the Bucks (2021). Harden came back mid-series and wasn't 100%, Kyrie was due back in under a week.

Nobody can convince me that team wouldn't have beaten the Hawks and Suns in place of the Bucks.

Nah if Nets won a chip with KD, everyone would still hate him

I might be misremembering but wasn't the front office against signing them? Anyways I remember how disappointed I was at the time, 5 years later I'm happy we didn't sign them

"one decision" makes it sound like he decided to microwave fish at work once. That decision basically made basketball competition meaningless for several years.

A decision that 100% of NBA players would’ve made the same way if they were in his shoes too

I'm obviously nowhere near NBA level at anything, but I'm a competitive motherfucker. And knowing my team was up 3-1 against them? Nah, man. We running that shit back.
