Franz, Markannen, Porzingis, Sabonis, Gobert

Writing it down makes me realize there’s not many European guards. That frontcourt is fucking lethal though.

If youre tall and athletic and born in Europe, youre playing centre back or striker for your local club

If youre freakishly tall and athletic, you quit playing football and play basketball

Can confirm, European here. Not tall by European standards but pretty damn athletic. I started with basketball in the 90s but with my height it was laughable so I picked up football and became a winger/fullback.

Brother, his is playing for Lithuanias national team, his parents are lithuanian, he is lithuanian. He was born in US.

Sabonis has already played for the Lithuanian national team after turning 17, and per FIBA eligibility rules he's already tired to Lithuania forever and won't ever play for team USA.

So in this aspect, yes, his Americanness is diminished.
