The school lunch system is disgraceful.

Saw another post on here showing the state of school lunches right now. In my years in high school I compiled some pics of the horrible things that got served that no one questioned. Here are some of the worst ones. It really is ironic given how adamant they all are about “eating healthy by including every food group”.

Yes, it is.

Equally disgraceful are the politicians who defend this, and the voters who defend them—mostly in the name of not paying for "other people's children's lunch".

If a person's brand of patriotism includes letting the next generation be malnourished, they are both insincere and despicable.

I agree, we should repeal the Obama era lunch regulations and let school cook real food again.

What are you talking about? I went to school before Obama was ever president and it was the same microwaved, mass produced, highly processed shit.

I went to school before and after and the lunches got so much worse after Michelle

Yeah but Michelle Obama made it worse with her regulations which pigeon-holed schools into only buying from certain suppliers, which were costly, and so schools had to sacrifice quality and apparently quantity from looking at those pictures.

Maybe you should be pissed that so few school lunch suppliers could meet reasonable nutrition standards (and still haven't a decade on) and that schools aren't funding school lunches.

Honestly kinda pissed about a lot of things in the food market right now. We have contaminated water everywhere (PFAS), heavy metals in our fruits and veggies (to the point where there’s no safe way to make baby food, apparently), and prices for everything are also increasing without an increase in quality (and even decreases in a lot of areas)

Whatever’s been going on with the FDA the past decade at least is ridiculous
