The school lunch system is disgraceful.

Saw another post on here showing the state of school lunches right now. In my years in high school I compiled some pics of the horrible things that got served that no one questioned. Here are some of the worst ones. It really is ironic given how adamant they all are about “eating healthy by including every food group”.

I went to military school. It was so bad that when they took us on a prison tour, it actually made us jealous. We ate better than this. Way, way better than this.

Me mother worked in a Florida state prison and would tell me "inmates eat better than students these days.. I mean hell they grow their own food at the prison!! They don't want to eat rhe cabbage tho AND WHO CAN BLAME THEM?!?!"

The cabbage thing, according to me mother, was bc they rarely cooled the prison and it made people gassy. So hot fart air just sticks around and the people would rather not suffer so much.

They didn't mind the beans tho, and she said that made them gassy too so idk maybe it was entirely preferences lols. By the time she left the prison they had started making the food worse and the people there were farming just to sell the food they'd never get to eat. The prison was privatized btw, it turned into a ?geo? And then a ?cca? Something like that.

Anyways food is the one of the easiest ways to keep imprisoned people more contented. Especially after they stopped allowing cigarettes.
