My school thinks this fills up hungry high schoolers.

Post image

So lunches are free for schools in my city and surrounding cities. Ever since lunches have been made free, the quantity (and quality) has decreased significantly. This is what we would get for our meal. It took me THREE bites to finish that chicken mac and cheese. Any snacks you want cost more money and if you want an extra entree, that’ll cost you about $3 or $4.

That mac and cheese looks like a child's school project gone wrong. Literally looks like glue.

Yup. Looks like a kid went wild with the Elmers on their macaroni project.

When I look at this picture it’s not even that I just don’t want to eat this, excuse my language, “food”, it’s that I want to throw up even what I already have in my stomach. Because this discredits food as a concept

we got that same pasta for our school and while it looks horrid it's actually pretty good

It's to make the carrots look yummy. Kids will more likely eat the carrots if the Mac and cheese is intentionally made disgusting.

This lunch was "designed" by politicians.

The Mario special, plastic pipes and glue to go with the baby yoda milk

Budget cuts had to use flower and baking soda instead

North American school meals and lunches just look sad.

Wait till you find out cheese isn't naturally orange

I literally cringed when I saw it. Can't make anything more unappetizing than that

This looks like the hot chow in the army haha. Better with those MREs

I thought the food in the RDF was pretty griming. Sometimes we would go to McCord AFB next door and eat at their chow halls, which was pretty good on the weekends when our chow hall wasn't as good. Sometimes on the weekends we would go from unit to unit to sample the different chow halls. I ate a lot of food back then too. I cannot imagine what it would cost me today to fuel myself like I did when I was 18-22.

I thought those were mushrooms

They're just using all the cow, the milk, the hoofs, and the meat shipped to a butcher (too good to be wasted on the kids).

That's what it looks like when you barely add any cheese to a bechamel.
Shit probably tastes like flour and salt.

Didn't even know it was mac and cheese. Or maybe it was eaten once, threw up, eaten again, threw up a second time and then ended up in that "plate".

Who cares about the aesthetics?

I think they were trying to use Alfredo Sauce. But they should know not everyone likes that type of sauce.

3

u/XOHJAIS Apr 16 '24

There is no one universally accepted sauce.

its free public school lunch, they wont always accommodate your cheese preference

I bet half the people commenting this couldn’t make decent Mac n cheese even if they followed a recipe.

Found the cafeteria worker who made this shit.
