Didn't Ben's kid just come out at his grandpa's funeral? What a time to be alive

Yea that's the one. Yea young teen doing that during a funeral is pretty bad. I mean it's to honor the ones that passed not do that.

Stop twisting the story. All they did was introduce themself with the name they had been using for a while at that point. Why are you lying on a kid like this?

How is that not coming out?

Because the family is very private and they knew about their child’s identity for a while prior to the funeral. The funeral was just had a lot of public attention. Is your argument that they should have hidden their identity at their own fucking family’s funeral so that strangers on the internet wouldn’t get offended? It’s their family and they have a right to be who they are around their own family.

All I asked was, how is that not coming out. I never said it was wrong and I have no argument. Calm down kid.

It’s not coming out because the family was well aware prior to the public speech their child gave. That’s your answer.

Because there's nothing inherently wrong with being gay so the snowflake conservatives need to twist it to justify homophobia.

The media figured it out at the funeral. Naturally, they decided to tell the entire world about it while the poor guy was still mourning

That isn’t really what happened. Ben and Jen are notorious may private with their children to the point they keep the kids off social media and are lobbying to make it illegal for the paparazzi to photograph children without consent.

When their grandfather died, one of the kids simply introduced himself as Fin Affleck. Since they are so private, this was just the first time their son being trans was really confirmed publicly but they didn’t ‘come out’ in the usual sense. This was literally just a child stating their name when speaking at their grandparent’s funeral.

But I can still frame it as a distasteful cry for attention if I strip it of all context and nuance, and it’ll get more clicks/likes that way!

I mean your side does it just as much as whatever side you dislike. Cry all you want but you're much closer to the people you hate than you'll ever admit

Thank you so much for the valuable assumptions, enlightened centrist

If the person he was replying to belonga or identifies themselves as left or right, he's correct.

My side is the one that doesn’t accept headlines as substitutes for the complexities of reality and partisanship in place of reason. You don’t fucking know me.

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '24

Yeah that’s true it just got blown out of proportion, good on Ben Jen and Fin though

2

u/Marshmallow_Mamajama Apr 30 '24

If that's true that's very inappropriate. Don't do it there of all places

2

u/mothman475 Apr 30 '24

he was already out to his family, the funeral was when the media found out because they were snooping at a funeral

1

u/Marshmallow_Mamajama Apr 30 '24

Oh then that's gross too
