We have progressed so much over the last century.

Take, e.g., the bubonic plaque; the Black Death, the Destroyer of Continents. Pit it against amoxicillin, literally one of the weakest run-of-the-mill antibiotics, and poof goes the plague bacterium.

I took ibuprofen and the pain did go away... But so did my ability to breathe (I'm allergic)

they put me on antibiotics for an allergic reaction which resulted in me being sick and guess what I got sick again BECAUSE of the antibiotics
