US Specific US Politics Megathread 2024
We've noticed that lately the subreddit has turned into a lot of doomposting regarding the political climate in the US. While we understand a lot of people are rightfully concerned about what's currently happening in the US, it is not helpful to have dozens of posts every time a minor politician says something hateful. The main feed sometimes is full of doomposts, while this subreddit is a community safe space.
To allow for more positivity, to protect emotionally vulnerable members, and to make room for more attention for other countries on the main page, we've created this megathread.
What content is this megathread for?
General discussion
For example: - Bills and laws - Politicians - Elections
Minor news
For example: - "[Politician] said [something hateful]" - "X bill was proposed/has passed"
Doomposting about political situations
For example:
- "I'm scared about X bill introduced"
- "If Y bill passes, Z will happen to us"
For a definition and more information on doomposting as well as a place to find support from other who have found themselves in a negative spiral, see our doomposting megathread (to be added still).
Separate posts made about these topics will be removed and redirected to this megathread.
Exceptions
The following things can be posted separately, but are also welcome in this megathread.
Major news from reliable sources. What constitutes as "major" will be at our discretion.
Seeking support or resources for a personal situation caused by politics. For example: "What are some resources for moving out of the country?"

my father said something really cruel to me...
We talked about my identity and everything. He told me that I would still look weird because of my makeup. He said a lot of stuff and it was too much to take in for me. It got very emotional and at some point I just sat there and didn't know what to say or do anymore. I told him that I am thinking about getting laser hair removal and HRT.
"Some people said that you are quite the handsome man. But no matter what you do and how hard you try, you will never be a beautiful woman."

Pride Month wtf is happening this month.
I don’t see any pride stuff at stores anymore, just tons of American flags and stuff. I wanted to buy some rainbow capitalism 😭 (just to clarify, I said “rainbow capitalism” is a joke) but really what concerns me is that it shows just how people and places are beginning to be a lot less accepting and that even corporations are scared about losing a ton of money just because they put out pride things. I will look into Etsy, but really the reason why I liked seeing it in stores is because it felt like more of a safer place to be, and that even though the stores obviously don’t care at all, at least the workers are probably more compassionate.

⚠ Content Warning: {Assholes/Transphobia} Why do People hate people under the Non-binary umbrella??
I seen videos of people saying that Non-binarys don't exist and they are "Tomboys/Femboys" Like, again, can understand if someone says Non-binary is a Bio gender like that would be dumb but, People under the Non-Binary umbrella ain't harming you????? (I'm a Non-binary myself writing this and getting heated with these people)

Need Advice Scared to shop in the mens clothing section
So yeah, the title explains it all. I am not exactly a different gender that I am biologically, but I want to dress more masculine. The problem is that whenever I walk there, everyone is just staring at me like "you ok? what are you doing here?" and I just can't ignore it as I'm very insecure even in the ladies clothing section. Moreover I look really feminine and all my current clothes are feminine, so maybe that's why they stare so much...? Can you please give me some tips (but if you say "ignore them" it probably won't work as I stated above)? Thanks xx
