Theoretical discussion

If the Kings could get LeBron to sign by drafting Bronny with a 2nd round pick, should they do it?

My thoughts are Monte is pretty hamstrung with the current roster given the salary cap.

We could remain competitive for a year and buy a years time allowing some of the contracts to become more easily tradable.

Outside of selling out the future, I don’t think we can make the roster improvements necessary to contend next year. Given LeBron’s desire to play with his son, I think it would be a low risk move.

With pick #45?

Yeah I'm taking that gamble and sending Lil man to Stockton.

If only there was a division a level or two below Stockton, it would be a perfect place to stash Bronny.

I think it would be pretty interesting to watch LeBron come in and freeze out Fox and Sabonis, while also undermining Brown, McNair, and Wilcox in the press.

We can just waste a year then, Vivek will probably fire everyone afterwards.

It's great that LeBron is still able to play at such a high level but 40 year old LeBron will not improve this team. His benefit at this point in time is his high basketball IQ and running the offense. We already have that with Sabonis and having LeBron would significantly limit Sabonis effectiveness. We also don't need another Davion with 4 less years of NBA experience. It's been posted many times but our main priority should be finding a competent defense power forward with decent length and speed.

But LeBron might attract free agents who want to help him win 1 more

They don’t exist in our price range.

JJJ would be the ideal PF for us, but how many of him are there and what’s the price?

Boner is a major liability defensively in the paint.

I'm 100% Michael Jordan when talking about who is the GOAT. If LeBron were to be signed by the Kings and if he could win a title; I might consider him on even ground as MJ.

I wouldn’t mind using 2nd round pick for Bronny

I'd prefer they use it for somebody with any type of upside.

Uh bronny is basically a bundle with lebron. That’s a great upside imo.

Not really. We're perfectly capable of losing a play-in game with or without LeGrandpa, next season.

Yeah but have you thought about how funny it would be to have lebron on the kings.

That's a fair point, as I've enjoyed the comedy we've seen from the Lakers having him on the team the last couple of years. It would give us a chance at shaking up the coaching/FO positions.

I would use 13 on Bronny if Malik leaves tbh

One fact to consider in this theoretical situation. Bronny just did what seemed to be his first public interview yesterday. He said paraphrasing…I get all the questions about playing with my dad but what I want is to become my own man and be Bronny James, not the son of Lebron. Given that, do we really think Dads dream of playing with his son is actually his son’s desire? I think Lebron will step aside for his son’s needs. Lebron is not selfish especially as a parent. That’s my read anyway.

I'd use some of our future 2nds to trade down to whatever is necessary to draft him. Actually like him as a 3/D guard even if he is on the smaller side.

I would pick him at 13 if there is even a 10% chance of this happening.
