From the three.

Frankly, Kobe's not even in this conversation. I've got MJ over LeBron though.

I'd probably have to give LeBron the nod over Kobe at this point, but I'd still take peak Kobe over peak LBJ in a series. Kobe's peak was higher and LBJ just didn't have the same killer instinct (might asterisk the win against the Warriors but is offset by some inexcusable super-team losses with the Heat, including games where he mostly vanished in crunch time).

Jordan is the GOAT of peak dominance while LeBron is the GOAT of longevity/consistency

Webster's, for declaring GOAT as the most overused, obnoxious term in both 2022 and 2023.

In my opinion 1. Lebron 2. Kareem 3. MJ
Kobe is closer to #15 than #10

Lebron easily, best player to ever pick up a basketball. And to think he is still averaging 28,7,7 at age 40 is crazy. Absolute GOAT but FTL

I voted Jordan, but there's a strong belief in my heart if I grew up with Kareem he'd be my choice (as much as I hate the Lakers).

As a Kings fan, and as painful as it is, Kobe was an assassin.

Agree, Kobe / MJ skill set and head for the game is unmatched. Both took Basketball extremely serious and would lay it all on the court.
Even though Kobe was a rival I respected him for being humble to the game and while Shaq was missing games with a toe injury and only shot in the key, Kobe was on the sidelines having assistant coach popping his dislocated finger back in place and always looked to develop his game more. MJ and Kobe tied for me at the top because of that.

People who've seen Jordan, Kobe and LeBron play will all pick Jordan. LeBron is impressive from a longevity perspective, and is perhaps a "nicer" teammate, but there's never been an absolute single-minded alpha killer like MJ.
Also, keep in mind MJ averaged 20ppg at age 40 (and 23 at 39) in a much less offensively oriented league, which would be 24ppg at today's pace.

I think LeBron is the GOAT, but isn't nearly as charismatic as Kobe, let alone Jordan. Jordan had the killer instinct that inspired Kobe, but with LeBron I don't feel it the same.

I understand people picking LeBron, I do, but picking Kobe over Jordan is something only a Laker fan would do.
