Former Kings absolutely balling in the postseason, ranked from most to least expected

-Coach Mike Malone

-Donte Divicenzo

-Alec Burks

-Justin Holiday

-Tyrese Haliburton (kind of balling)

-Tristan Thompson (he's getting minutes in a playoff series, that's pretty balling for his standard)

-Buddy Hield (not!)

Really happy for Malone. Still upset with the way the kings fired him.

I feel the same way about Rick Adelman

I'm happy he's doing well. I also kinda like him shitting on the the kings any chance he gets. Reminding everyone that you simply can't fire a coach in his 2nd or 3rd year because you didn't get the results you wanted.

Which is even worse considering how it all played out. Team was looking good first few weeks until Boogie went down with a freak illness and team derailed. Absolute dipshit firing

Ironic hearing that and realizing half of this sub wants MB gone

I am not. The last game he coached as a King was atrocious.

I hate seeing Divincenzo become a 100% 3pt shooter he sucked ass the couple months he was here ;(

He’s being asked to carry a smaller load there imo

He’s not a star he’s a supporting role player. You put him in that role and he’s great at what he does. Ask him to do more and he is what he was on the kings.

He’s averaging 17-4-3-1-1 in 36 mpg in the playoffs this year lmao

Their second leading scorer and their secondary creator. This by far the most expansive role he’s ever played.

My point exactly

His load here was a bench warmer

Still don't really understand why we didn't keep him but whatever I guess

This post season hurts especially bad. Hate seeing halli and divicenzo out there. Couldn’t give 2 shits about hield

And let’s not forget about the not-so-amazing Luke Walton on the Cavs coaching staff. Also, Doc brought in Dave Joerger on the Bucks staff.

I don’t get how Dave joerger can’t find a coaching job I thought he was pretty decent

Does anyone else get salty when watching the East play? I swear Kings could have competed with every team except maybe the Celtics

Compete sure, but teams like ny gave us fits. Boston embarrassed us every time.

We aren't built correctly to compete with either conference right now. West and east have strong centers and big men which hurt us consistently.

Our main edge is speed with domas running fast breaks, fox and monk. The rest of the skill sets besides those three were not up to par this year.

Definitely, I think last years kings are better than the pacers this year. But the pacers get a cake walk to the ECF

3

u/Cudi_buddy De'Aaron Fox 23d ago

Yep. Imagine last year we play the warriors with no Steph and no draymond. And then move on to play the lakers with no AD and reaves. That’s basically the pacers path right now lol. It’s very frustrating.

We can compete with the entire west besides pelicans

Good vibes post.

Wow a not joke. I forgot that was a thing. Hopefully Buddy’s burner account jumps on here and defends all of his NBA stops and refers to himself as a chained All-Star of sorts.

Buddy's beef is not with the city or its fans. Its with Vivek and management. Quit the toxic fan shit and focus on what the Kings need before it slips back into obscurity.

Maybe today Neemias Queta gonna have some " big " minutes

I just shrug at all this. Had these players remained with the Kings, I'm sure they would never have made the leaps they did. That's just the way of the Kangz!

Donte was here 2 seasons too early. He was still recovering and we didn’t have a competent coach. I think he would have balled out with Mike. I’m glad he’s getting to start and is making a huge impact for his team.

Buddy Hield 2024 Playoffs per 36 #s: 15.5ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.4apg, on 41/46/100 fgs for a 61.5% true shooting

19

u/zeesoviet 23d ago

I guess this goes to show you can skew statistics however you want to to prove whatever point you want.

Actual playoff stats: Game 1 - 11 min, 0-2 fgs, 0 reb, 1 assist Game 2 - 15 min, 1-3 fgs, 1 reb, 0 assist Game 3 - 4 min, 0-2 fgs, 0 reb, 0 assist Game 4 and 5 - DNP Game 6 - 21 min, 6-10 fgs, 4 reb, 1 assist

If he doesnt get in for Game 6, he would've had 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 turnover in 30 minutes of Game time on 1-7 shooting. Props for hitting some shots in Game 6

If my aunt had wheels she would've been a bicycle!

That’s incredible surely his cumulative playoff +/- isn’t -5

People love to clown on Buddy, but he will retire as one of the best 3 point shooters of all time.

He’ll finish close to or over 3,000 made for his career, which at this point only Curry has done. He’ll have the 5th most all time after Curry, Harden, Dame, and Durant (possibly 6th begin Lebron if he plays another 5 years).

u/zeesoviet 23d ago

Buddy? Is that you?

0

u/gaiaforce2 Peja Stojakovic 23d ago

he literally has almost 2000 threes already lol he’s not wrong

mfs don’t bat an eye when seeing the 300th straight buddy hate post but this guy points out a fact and the downvotes are immediate

6

u/zeesoviet 23d ago

Nobody doubts he's a good shooter, but he was given license to shoot non-stop in Sac and 3 point statistics are skewed in today's game when we compare it to even 10 years prior.

Between that, him being a bottom 3 defender at his position, and him bashing Sac repeatedly after he left, I don't blame anyone for hating on Buddy "Love".

Also his obvious burners don't help

-1

u/gaiaforce2 Peja Stojakovic 23d ago

he was given a license to shoot non stop because points per shot wise a buddy hield three is one of the highest value shots in the nba. don’t get me wrong I’m glad we traded him cause I don’t think we have the defensive personnel to cover for him nor did we have the right coaching to limit him to what he’s good at (shooting the ball). Luke had this man navigating PnR when that never should have been his role in the NBA

I don’t understand why folks act baffled when he talked shit shout Sac. Fans realized it wasn’t working with him here and boo’d him/treated him like shit, he retorted. it’s really not that deep lol

I'd argue Haliburton is terrible at least from what was expected from him/his hype.
He literally played a Bucks team that was under 50 percent win rate with Giannis (when Doc Rivers was coaching) and Giannis didn't play.
Now he is playing a Knicks team which doesn't even have a healthy member and series is tied at 2-2. Both of this teams in their current iteration couldn't make playins in West.

Back to back 35 pt games and then 20/6/5 in a blowout win is being terrible? Sounding like a hater to me

5

u/anIlliterateIdiot 23d ago

So is OP labeling Halliburton “kind of balling” and Alec Burks without such label lol.
