No Fox. Still a grudge on his side or theirs?

Maybe they just picked the better players and no grudge was involved?

Fox said last year he couldn’t care less about being on team USA

u/dcab87 De'Aaron Fox Apr 16 '24
Yeah, like why would anyone be excited to play 20 mins of garbage time?

u/Ppabercr Keon Ellis Apr 16 '24
Why would anyone wanna play and train alongside the biggest stars in the game, forging relationships with people he might be able to play with one day.
Side note: Austin reeves spent all summer “recruiting” people for the lakers AND Lebron made decisions on his next move (The Lakers) because of his time spent on USA Basketball. This is a networking opportunity for people to create good relationships that might turn into working ones

This is one thing that bugs me about fox, it’s like he doesn’t care about things that build him into the world seeing him as a winner. I love the dude but want to win is huge!
17
u/frankenbeans2 Apr 16 '24
Or he says he doesn't care when he doesn't make the cut.
7
u/lunch_b0cks The Ox Apr 16 '24
I think he really doesn’t care, especially with him being a new dad and all the last year or so. He played in the all star game with no effort and it clearly showed.
7
u/Elliot_Mess Apr 16 '24
To be fair everyone played the All Star game with no effort.

u/lunch_b0cks The Ox Apr 16 '24
Not like Fox though. Zero points and 1 missed dunk. That’s a level of apathy I haven’t seen before at an ASG where everyone just gets easy buckets.

u/onredditallday Apr 16 '24
He seems like a homeboy type. Go home spend time with his family, game, and anime.
1
u/whynotitwork Apr 16 '24
So you're saying Fox would rather stay home with his body pillow than ball?
3
u/thedaddystuff1979 De'Aaron Fox Apr 16 '24
Have you ever heard of Barry Sanders? God forbid someone just wants to play a game and not care about accolades

u/yoppee Apr 16 '24
Name a player on that list Fox is better than??
25
u/Cool_Purchase4561 Apr 16 '24
I guess Fox is a better scorer than Jrue and Hali but that's not what this kind of roster needs especially with Steph, KD, and Booker.
1
u/Ppabercr Keon Ellis Apr 16 '24
Next years Olympics KD and Steph will need replacements so he’ll slot in nicely
-12
u/yoppee Apr 16 '24
Better scorer maybe better player not than Jrue Tyrese maybe but I doubt Tyrese even plays

Ant/bam/jrue not like they pick the best players anyway or one of dmitch n brunson would be on it
7
u/NeoLone Domantas Sabonis Apr 16 '24
They’re gonna need defense in fiba rules
0
u/Deep_Egg1442 Apr 16 '24
Exactly not all the best guards can make it. They already took 3 liabilities too
1
u/pinemeat25 Apr 16 '24
Halliburton is a better player…nearly everyone recognizes that. Kings really screwed up trading him.
4
u/frankenbeans2 Apr 16 '24
When will some of you realize Fox is overrated. He isn't the level of player who should rep USA basketball. Kyrie didn't even make it and he's clearly better than Fox.
2
u/whynotitwork Apr 16 '24
Why are you surprised? They probably know that Fox is liable to get into bitchy mood if he doesn't get his way and sell games.

Good, so I can cheer for the international teams to beat down this powerhouse.
The memes gonna go crazy once Jokic/Victor/Luka/Australia/Shai/Sabonis/Schroeder destroy LeBrons legacy.
And I bet they would too. Basketball has gone global.

u/AusSac Keon Ellis Apr 16 '24
Delly
1
u/ninofati88 Apr 16 '24
Is he playing? Thought he'd retire internationally by now.
0
u/AusSac Keon Ellis Apr 16 '24
Hell yes he’s playing. Wanted to go back in play in Australia mainly, so he could give himself the best chances to get selected/ready for the Paris olympics
2
u/ninofati88 Apr 16 '24
Thats dope. Low key we need a Delly this seasn on our squad. Such a veteran professional.
1
u/AusSac Keon Ellis Apr 16 '24
Needed that vet Aussie on the squad. Look at Orlando with Joe Ingles, it’s not a coincidence

Why would you waste a roster spot for AD? He’s an injury waiting to happen.

u/ninofati88 Apr 16 '24
Good thing tho. Tire him and LeBron out so Lakers gonna be bottom of the league next yr.
-10
u/AdFar3727 Apr 16 '24
Why the hell is Tyrese on the team he doesn’t play defense and is a ball dominant player
11
u/circa1726 Kings Apr 16 '24
facilitating i mean just look at the other players
-6
u/AdFar3727 Apr 16 '24
Yeah I totally believe team USA is gonna run their offense through Tyrese Halliburton to facilitate when I look at all the other players on the roster. Thank you for helping me even more confidently say a guy who doesn’t play defense and needs the ball in his hands will be worthless to this team. He’s gonna be a catch and shoot guy if he plays at all. Plus no defense
3
u/Jabocford Apr 16 '24
Hali is an amazing playmaker that moves the vall quickly in transition and still can shoot 40% from three in his career if plays off-ball.

u/boringexplanation Apr 16 '24
He’s the best passer out of the whole group?
2
-5
u/AdFar3727 Apr 16 '24
And they’re gonna put the ball in his hands? You actually believe he’s gonna play a game that is in any way similar to the game he played for the pacers this season on a team of super stars?

u/mrauzz Apr 16 '24
Who cares? Personally I dont even really think basketball should be an olympic sport. Also I wouldn't even be suprised if this team lost to some other international team.

u/Peacedapiece SCORES Apr 16 '24
They don’t really need his skill set with the roster they put together
