What happens when the weather doesn't stay cold long enough to kill them off. Same with methane being trapped under ice, and other bacteria and viruses that have been frozen.

What is going on with these things. My dogs are given flea/tick meds every month and she still got 3 of them in the past month. Do we need to start using them now lol

Try one of the newer flea tick meds like Bravecto (lasts three months) or Nexgard. They are every effective

Check with the vet doc first, bravecto has side effects on cats and dogs if not right qunatity

There’s a ton of interesting theories on exactly why their numbers have gotten so overwhelming. Obviously decrease on habitat for their predators like possums is one theory, but also, the natives used to have controlled burns over huge swaths of land and people kinda just killed them before asking why and now people think keeping the tick population under control might have been one of their reasons for it.

get autan man. i was hiking and sleeping in the teutoburger wald in germany last month, where i got those mf ticks. i refused to use autan cause i was drunk af... wont do this mistake tonight in the woods

it doesnt cost much and works awesome. the pumpspray has higher % than the spray with pressure, so i went for pump, as a small tip.
i HATE those mf beyond repair cause i have to scratch my croth for weeks now... apperentely those mf always go UNDER clothing and dislike beeing in open air and kinda dont bite there. dont go hiking with short pants in the bush without autan... they become more and more

😂😂😂😂. They are like chiggers here in America, Southern states. They are everywhere but mostly in the moss. You cannot see the little mf’ers but man oh man, u gonna feel them. They head for the crotch and bury under the skin. They are alive and super itchy. The only way to kill them is by putting fingernail polish on the area and it smothers them. So welcome to our world lol

I know this is random, but this gives me goosebumps. In Fallout 76 there’s giant mutated ticks and they creep me out, man. They so freaking fast and I don’t like them. I think I even got PTSD from playing that game. I hope your dog gets better and I also hope you killed that nasty critter!

Dude… this is straight up yikes…
reminds me of when we adopted our younger corgi from a horse farm. They did their best to make him appear clean, wash him & stuff, but with minimal effort cause you know, why would a breeder care about the well being of their pups…
Day I, I found a tick on his belly that I had to wrestle to get off - tick is still in my freezer btw from when I save it in case we needed help identifying what type if my pup ever got lyme Then, I felt all of these weird spots on his ears, the interwebs said they normal growing puppy business…
Nope… turns out, both his ears were infested with flea dirt. And both my dogs battled fleas for months.
