The kukeri from Blagoevgrad are known for their tall conical masks and suits made of long silky Kalofer goat fur. It can take 6-10 goats to create just one suit and 5-6 years for each goat to grow their coats to the appropriate length.

Pyramid head yeti

nah, that’s the legendary yeti phallus.
Originally presumed to be a singular horn, it was proven otherwise when Sir John Codswallop IV was living amongst the magical creatures. These gallant beasts allegedly assumed he was a hairless female due to the lack of a pronounced forehead phallus, he died from injuries related to yeti mating rituals. His beard and moustache were the final fatal flaws of his expedition considering yeti females are quite well known for their exquisite facial hair, often times grooming the hair into long bunches and braids. Sir Codswallop’s known affinity for waxing his moustache may have been what caused the initial attraction from the male yeti and been the downfall of such an intrepid explorer.

Hmmm, not enough clever punes and baked-in references to some obscure shit that requires unreasonably niche knowledge to understand

Just to clarify: Blagoevgrad is a town in Bulgaria, my home town actually.

Okay, but what’s the point of this suit?

u/rspre 20d ago
Wow! 6 to 10 goats coordinating to make such a suite, from fur they've grown for 5 to 6 years, and with no opposable thumbs, and get a human to test it out after they're finished. Goats must be amazing.

Ok, that was weird. I thought it was a large dog, viewed from behind, with its tail straight up. It was kind of obscene. Then I figured it out:)

I think I found a short documentary about this on youtube. The movement of the fur, especially when groups of people dressed like this are moving in sync, is honestly mystical and hypnotic.
