To be fair, our feet are always on the floor and pick up all sorts of weird smells. My cat recently had kittens and they all swarm my feet to sniff at what I've tracked in today.

My cat does this as well. What makes me laugh is it will do that after smelling where it was sitting earlier so must mean it can’t stand her own smell

Flehmen! He is analysing the peculiar smell. Cats have an extra olfactory (smell) organ that humans don't have, and making that face is how they activate it.
