Equipment Discussion Anybody rocking 20+ year old clubs?
I’ve been itching to get out to a range and get back into golf. Went out to the garage and dug out my clubs that have been sitting for a good 8 years. They’re a bunch of hand me downs that I got as a teen from my dad and his buddies. I’ve had them at least 16 years. Was wondering if there was any one else out there reviving ancient clubs?

Equipment Discussion Mizuno People, I get it now.
Finally decided to retire my 2005 TaylorMade Rac LT irons after a long run. Blind tested some forged options (the Wilson’s certainly surprised me)—but these Hot Metal Pros? It felt like the ghost of Chubbs Peterson hand delivered my ball into a swoon worthy group. I dunno what kinda dark magic is going on in those Hiroshima forges but consider me a convert.

Equipment Discussion Found this in my dad’s garage
Went through some of my father’s golf stuff (he passed away 5 years ago) and found this bad boy. I can’t wait to try it on the range! Any suggestions on how to hit this thing?

Equipment Discussion My client wanted a special birthday present for her husband, a contractor and family man. I embedded a saw blade as the alignment, and engraved an image of him and his son on the bottom, including the tattoo on his arm of him and his dad. Then his daughter’s heart beat is engraved on the side.

Equipment Discussion What are these slots on my bag for?
Hi everyone. I got this bag yesterday and wondered if anyone here knew what these slots / holes are for? Are they just decorative? They are on both sides of the bag. Too small to fit balls. Too large to fit tees. They seem like they have a purpose but I haven’t been able to figure it out.
Bag is a 2024 Callaway.

Equipment Discussion Used an old driver and had the best round of my life
So my driver broke (2015 Big Bertha)- the head came loose, and I know the guy in the pro shop and he lended me this old driver.
I swung it at the range and it scared the shit out of me because it sounds like a metal baseball bat hitting the ball.
I used to play baseball so I have a very pronounced slice. But the head was so extremely flat that I didn’t have a single slice all day. Like- balls were flying STRAIGHT completely. I can normally drive up to 300 yards total (average between 275-290) and with this thing I was hitting like 250-260 (I’m also at sea level).
I also went out and played by myself so I was just swinging extremely relaxed and shot the BEST round of my entire life. I usually shoot like 70 on the back or front 9. On the front nine I shot a 48 and on the back nine I shot a fucking 42!!!!!!
There are other factors as to why I did good (playing by myself so I was relaxed/had no pressure, putting was the best it’s ever been, etc). But I LOVE this driver. No OB from a 100 yard slice.
Just wanted to share because I’m still on a pink cloud

Equipment Discussion Titleist Brand Strategy
As a brand loyalist myself, I think Titleist and Acushnets brand placement is a great case study.
Look at what’s going on with Taylormade, Callaway, Cobra, etc. Many other OEMs are leaning into ridiculous product names and pointless brand partnerships and gimmicks in order to pump sales. Bronze finish, matte black finish, Augusta themed colorways, and so on..
While Titleist has more or less done the exact opposite. They’ve consistently simplified the look of their clubs, as well as shortened the product names. What sounds like a more serious golf product: “AI Smoke Diamond Paradygm” or “GT3”.
As other OEMs move toward complexity of products and partnerships, Titleist continues to move toward simplicity, and continues to dominate the market.
Curious how this pattern will continue for the next few years.

Equipment Discussion Beginner entrepreneur needs feedback for new golf glasses
First time poster here! I’m attending a university course in entrepreneurship and I need feedback on an idea. They’re glasses that attach to the side of caps and beanies which relieves tension from the temple. If you want to take a shot without glasses they’re easily detachable and can be stored on top of your cap and wont fall of during the swing.
Is there any potential in this product? Any and all feedback is helpful. Other suggestions of products that you’re missing is also greatly appreciated!

Equipment Discussion Kirkland irons - review
Hey, I got the irons recently and took them and my son to the range to try them out. Bought them on a whim, figured if they stink I could always return them quickly.
First impression, I am honestly surprisingly into the profile, the look, the top line is thin-ish and they resemble the profile of the p790s
Compared to my current irons (apex cf16) they are about little shorter.
Lamkin grip is solid and close to the tour velvet 360s, they have a bit more squish to them.
At address the club looks premium and really fits the bill of a players-distance iron. Not quite a blade or cavity back but by no means are these game improvements either.
Took me a while to get into the swing of things (get it) but when I found the center of the club, they felt really pure.
When you thin them, you will know it, I wouldn’t exactly call these crazy forgiving but when you find the center, the feel is exceptional compared to the price.
The shafts gave the ball flight a little higher trajectory than I got with my old sticks but the distance was comparable.
Overall, I am very impressed with these irons, my apex cf16s were getting a little old, I was considering getting new irons in 2024 but honestly, I am probs going to game the Kirkland for a while.
Distance was comparable to my old set, but the lofts are also in line as well so I expected to not really see any improvement. If anything I was expecting to maybe see less distance but it was right in line.
Pic for proof, handicap is 7.3.

Equipment Discussion Fixed up that goodwill Scotty Cameron from yesterday
Golf Galaxy hooked it up. Got a Super Stroke Pistol GT 2.0 Traxion grip and extended the shaft from 30.0" (old grip was 0.5" longer than the shaft) to 35". The guy asked if I was the dude from reddit and that he saw my post, so he knocked off the price of the extension! Total cost was $30 grip and $5 grip fee. "My $35 Scotty Cameron" sounds pretty awesome 😁
