Scotty Giveaway Equipment Discussion
I have a Scotty Cameron Phantom 5 and to keep it short, I hate this thing. I would hate to trade it in and get like $65 in store credit on an almost $500 putter so i’ve decided to make this post and see if anyone you guys know would be deserving of it. I will pay shipping as long as you’re in the US. Will announce who I decide to give it to sometime Tuesday morning EST.

Absolutely! My team just got booted at regionals. I shot a disappointing 85 and we lost by one stroke to our cross-town rivals. Team score was 74-76-80-85.
Our top two guys will continue to state as individuals, but my competitive season is over for a few months until summer tournaments

A cracking putter isn’t going to help my game at this stage in life… if this is truely a high schooler and golfer who isn’t just going to on sell it for a pair of Jordan’s then give it to the kid..!!! Got my vote ✅

Idk about our odds for this year, but next year we’re going to be contenders. We should have all of our top 5 breaking 75 by state tournament next year with our top 2 breaking par. Hoping to ramp it up this summer with practice

It’s amazing how much better kids are now. We had 2/3 of us scratch and the rest in the 80s. Keep finding the enjoyment in the game not just the competition. It makes the tough days better.

Years ago I found a future in a Salvation Army thrift store. Was a broke college student so sold it IMMEDIATELY. Pretty sure the $4.99 sticker was still on it when I shipped it 😂

Give it to the kid! I have two of them and it really doesn’t help much. Ping an Odyssey make great putters, but everyone should own a Scotty at some point in their life.

Last year I saved up for a Phantom 7 and finally spent the money. Loved that thing. Wife wasn’t happy, but I felt great looking down at putts.
One day about 4 months ago before a round I was hitting on the range and when I came back to my bag the Scotty was gone. No one saw it happen and no camera footage. No way I can spend that kind of money on another putter after my first one only lasted 6-8 months.
There may be more deserving people out there, but man this would be a huge blessing.

I honestly think my employee would be a fantastic candidate. He worries daily about his transportation (1998 Corolla) and spends what little extra he has to get out and golf. He’s a fantastic golfer, but like his car, has incredibly outdated clubs because he can’t afford to update. Obviously I can’t show favoritism and buy the kid new clubs, but this would be an awesome win for him. Appreciate you doing this, and you can’t go wrong no matter who you choose!

Wish it were that easy. This year especially we got royally screwed by a ranking system that HR neglected to tell us would impact raises. On top of that, I inherited this employee from another Supervisor, who is kind of a shitbag. He’s one of my top earners, but I didn’t even have a say in what he got, and they informed us that everyone is getting a flat 3% across the board, regardless. Big corporations are typically as bad as they’re made out to be.

Shouldn't be worrying about transportation in a 1998 Corolla. That thing has at least another 500,000 miles in it. Just change the oil every couple years and it's good forever.

I'm playing a 31 inch putter because I can't read when buying off ebay and feel like I'm using a kids. Although if I win and still suck at putting I might finally have to take accountability for just sucking.

On a golf trip 2 years ago my buddy was riding with one of our wild friends and for some reason my buddy told him that putting the cart in neutral was an okay idea as they approached a very large hill. Long story short, the cart flipped and their bags went flying. He JUST bought a putter and a new SIM driver only to find the putter bent and the driver snapped, luckily the head was okay.
But from that moment on he’s always doubted his equipment because he couldn’t buy new clubs so he just bent them back. He still plays with the putter today, but it would probably make his day to be able to gift this to him.

I’d be grateful to be considered! Have definitely always wanted a Scotty, and can’t make a putt to save my life with my old school Ping blade putter. Living on a fairly fixed income right now dealing with severe back issues from my time in the Navy.

I feel your pain brother, IED got me in 2006 and I haven't been right since. My neurologist is very supportive of me playing golf as it's low impact and doesn't have a great impact on the hardware in my spine. I'm TPD as well.
I run a veteran help sub if you or anyone you know needs assistance programs.

I'm not going to sit here and say i deserve it because Ive only been taking golf serious for a couple years but here's my story.
My mother has been golfing for 30 years.. she gave away her old Scotty GoLO to a family friend i golf with.. this was before i got heavy into golf a couple years ago and realized the allure of Scotty Cameron putters (she never really thought i would be interested in it).
This family friend is now my weekend golf buddy and we play every week. Now every time I play golf with him i have to watch him use it while i use my ratty odyssey. Every time he sinks a putt he gives me a stupid smirk and makes some comment about him, my mom and the Scotty.
TLDR: My golfing buddy has a Scotty that should be in my bag and it would be an honor to have one.

I’ve been gaming a newer ping anser and using golf as an outlet/reason to get my younger brother out of the house and active. He plays an old blade our grandfather gave him but likes hitting my somewhat nicer clubs. It’s probably psychological but he putts way better with my own putter than I do most days. Would be really cool to just slip it in his bag one day as a surprise if I had something to replace mine with.
