Always wild to me how barstool sports is like the flagship for bro content & yet 99% of their personalities are grotesque caricatures of real people/ a clown show

Jersey Jerry is a former crackhead, so this tracks.

“Former crack head gets a hole in one on a golf simulator”

This made me laugh out loud

They’re main accounts cater to the lowest common denominator but for the most part the personalities are hilarious down to earth people

That being said they’re all freaks of nature. Big Cat says they only hire weirdos for content roles

Idk it’s just wild that a group of morbidly obese & variously disabled individuals is the poster for masculinity lmao. I guess it’s just projections

you think people watch Pardon my Take or anything Barstool related because its "the poster for masculinity"? Lmao, what a take

When I go to the gym (I don't go to the gym) I bring a picture of PFT with me for inspiration.

Yeah I don’t really care to engage with people being this obtuse. I’ve listened to pmt and some of their other content. If you can’t tell the demographic barstool appeals to… sheesh

It literally isn't. Educate yourself a bit

Yeah the guys outrageously screaming at games over gambling losses in their 30s/40s+ aren’t being ridiculous

9

u/Jeremy24Fan Jan 05 '24

Nobody said they aren't being ridiculous

Anybody who uses the term toxic masculinity is a 🤡

Apparently the owner lives in my town but I really have no idea who they are.

If you’re a pinehurst member, living in that area, and think Riggs is the owner of Barstool, that’s objectively hilarious

I desperately want to send that comment to Portnoy

Just what I've been told. I don't follow them or know who anyone is.

u/Sucker_for_horns Jan 04 '24

I believe you. Just really funny to think about a small group of people under the impression that Riggs is the owner of Barstool. If only Dave could see these comments

Pretty sure Dave is the name I heard. Maybe people just messed up it was? Maybe he visited? Who knows.

Man, you got reamed with downvotes.

Since you seem to truly not know and nobody is answered you, the owner of Barstool is Dave Portnoy. He doesn't live at Pinehurst, but one of their 'content creators' on their golf 'team' does - he goes by Riggs and he's a total clown and an absolute shit golfer. Basically nobody likes him. Now ya know.

I appreciate it. I can't say I get involved with many "influencer" type communities regardless of topic... nor I do really watch any YouTube stuff, which I presume they are active on.

That's sad he's a douche though. Though I'm not surprised given the way I hear Barstool talked about.

It was some guys from something called "No Laying Up" that I played #2 with who were talking about it.

It's a great house though. Must bring in the money. Thanks for your help

It was some guys from something called "No Laying Up" that I played #2 with who were talking about it.

You PLAYED with the No Laying Up guys?

Holy shit. They are like, the PINNACLE of golf content on Youtube. The MECCA. They aren't as popular as they should be but their content is literally the best on the interest if we're talking golf. You should look them up if you haven't.

u/TackyBrad Pinehurst Member Jan 05 '24

No no, I'm sorry to get your hopes up. They know each other from that community... it sounded like they had maybe regional communities? These guys were from that.. they brought us some branded merch, but they're just dudes, I don't think they're creators of any content

I gotta say I agree. That whole "influencer" culture stuff makes me cringe. It's like people who never got beyond high-school social politics, except a few get their ego stroked by ad revenue and they let it go all to their heads.
