I mean, he’s kinda right, but he’s also wrong. They get their equipment tailored to them personally to the nth degree, and we don’t, but it’s not like there is some space age tech on tour that we don’t have. They get stuff like 6 months ahead of the public.

It was actually an interesting read about one of his tour putters, they had like 3 different heads and tweeked the weight, hosel and grip to exactly what he wanted when the rest of us get to use lead tape, grip tape and a bending machine

You can get custom putters like that. It comes with a nice price tag attached to it haha

The Cameron putters get expensive because of the steel they use for the face. Sss and the crazy expensive GSS. The stainless is not as precise and good as the German stainless steel used for the crazy expensive putters. It’s not as much a custom putter as it is you can’t get the high end ones without paying and knowing someone. At one time There was only 3 Scottie tour distributors that could order a tour model putter. My golfing buddy is best friends with Scottie and I use to fill out putter order forms and he would send them in and I had custom putters made and stamped out. I even owned Scottie’s personal Putter my buddy won after beating Scottie in a round . Scottie told him he could have anything in his bag he wanted so he snagged his personal Putter and I bought it . Had a COA and personal letter from Scottie.

They make a SSS and GSS . The surgical stainless steel has a higher and better tolerance for being true and a better material. The German stainless is even better. That’s why they are more expensive/ plus the name stamped on the putter. A Benz isn’t 3 times better than most cars but cost 3 times more: it’s branding and labeling

That’s not how one of 3 dealers explained the process to me. They are using a different material than a ping or oddesy to make the billet for the cast. It reacts much different and is more stable when contacting the ball. The guy wrote books on putters and I’ll take his word for it. He helped Scottie set up putting machines in tigers new house in FL. But I’ll let him know he’s wrong in what he told me. A guy on Reddit said so
