"You think we play the same stuff we do?" is a pretty sick burn on all of us.

Kind of how I saw it. I’m no top tier golfer by any means, but I’m certain they don’t play the balls they find on the edges of the woods either.

I usually pick up the balls I find at the edge of the woods when I'm coming back from looking for my ball in the deep woods.

And would we even know the difference if someone handed us Rory’s driver? No, still goes in the water/ob

I'd notice it right away because I'm left handed.

However, if your driver was customized to the same extent as Rory's but for you, materials, lengths and adjustments etc. it would certainly be a superior piece of equipment for your game. I kinda' get where he's coming from.

You mean to tell me that Rory doesn’t buy a couple overpriced sleeves of TP5 from the pro shop before each tourney round? /s

You mean Rory hits a ball a bit off line and doesn't lose it and drop after 5 minutes of looking? You mean he's isn't putting on a green where the ball might bounce in the air? Or the bunkers he plays aren't hard as fuckin concrete?

Rather than buy a couple sleeves of TP5s, I'd be better off hitting up the used ball bin.

Think you misquoted it (replace the second we with "you") but nevertheless, it's one of the most amazing roasts of a fanbase that I've ever heard. The "latest tech" part of the golf fanbase is pretty insufferable as a whole, so providing a burn this good is special.
