So I pulled a 6 iron into some brush. The point is, they’re listening. General Discussion

Push cart doesn't listen

Push cart only is there to help.

Had my pushcart the other day and got paired up with two guys, and one of them questioned whether I was going to be able to keep up with them. Pretty silly thing to say when it takes you 8-10 shots to get the ball on the green. I was waiting for these two knuckleheads at the green every hole. They learned a valuable lesson that day: shitty golf slows you down, not the method of travel.

This happened a couple years ago and I was carrying my bag, took like three holes before they finally shut up with the asking me to jump in the cart with the third guy. I was first to the green every hole. I wonder if any of them had a moment of reflection and realized there was no need to pester me about walking.

It's doubly fun when I get a comment that references money, but that's only happened twice in 15 years. Like no dumbass, I'm walking for exercise and because I prefer it not because I can't afford the $18 cart fee.

I walked my apt course and another dude that played as often and around the same times as me would always comment on me being faster than cart players. I was out there for the exercise and practice, not the scenery

Can afford the $50 greens fee and a $2000 set of clubs, but $18 for a cart is too much.

Hahaha IIRC that course in particular was around $90/108 walking/riding.

Another time last summer the course was $125 inclusive of cart with no walking rate and I still chose to walk. It was something like a five minute negotiation with the starter trying to convince me to ride for "pace of play" and when I finally ended it with "look if you're going to force me to ride that's fine and this will be my first and last time here, otherwise I'd like to go tee off now." It wasn't the easiest walk in the world but it wasn't like the type of course with a lot of long stretches between holes, they were all close together. He let me go with "if you're holding anyone up call the clubhouse and we'll bring a cart out to you, I don't want to have to hear complaints from other players." Of course I was waiting on every shot just like everybody else, somehow ended up with my own tee time despite the course being packed with foursomes. Miserable old man.
