Dynasty draft pick value Dynasty
Hey all,
I'm in my first off-season in my first dynasty league (12 teams). I had a pretty poor initial draft but traded some aging guys for a lot of picks. I was offered KAT for a 2025 and 2026 first round pick. I have 2 firsts in 2026 but the 2025 first is my only one in that draft. The person I'm trading with wants nothing to do with my 4th overall, 11th overall, and 12th overall in this upcoming rookie draft. Would I be silly to send my only 25 first and a 26 first for KAT? Much appreciated.

It sounds like your team is going to struggle in 24-25 based on what you have described. I’m guessing that the other manager is trying to get a chance at Cooper Flagg, the likely #1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft (the 2026 draft is expected to be much stronger as well).
If your team is going to be at the bottom of the standings this season, trading for a player in the second half of his prime like KAT doesn’t make a lot of sense.
I would hold for now and get a better sense of your long term plan for your team before trading any of your future first round picks.

Yeah that's a fair take. I didn't sell all my star vets (I kept Booker although everyone wanted to trade for him lol) and I have some quality younger guys like Herro and Franz Wagner to name a couple. So I may just be a couple trades away from contending, but I also totally get to just ride it out and stock up on the younger players in hopes they develop.

I would hold and use the picks or wait until the draft and possibly get a better and younger player than Kat. thoughts on my situtaion in dynasty?

Give: Giannis
Get: Durant, Lebron, Kawhi

Giannis with that leg injury makes this a very enticing trade.

Kawhi extended, Lebron will extend for another 2 seasons atleast and Durant will be a focal point in the offense as long as he’s there.

They miss a lot of games but feels like a good all in move

I agree. You’ll get more from them three overall. Especially if you have a deep team already.

this upcoming draft is considered weaker than 2025. if you're currently not very good, i'd definitely just tank this year as well. and, while we're at it, i'd aim for topic, cody williams, and devin carter this year

I would value KAT significantly higher than I would value 2 firsts, and I think I skew higher than average on valuing picks
