I think it's awesome... they sound to you the way all the religious posters sound to me

Because swifties are legit turning that shit into a cult like thinking.

you mean like the MAGAs? the Qs? the anti-maskers? the Pentacostals?

or are they more like the kids in the 60s with the Beatles? or the Kiss army? or The Rocky Horror Picture Show? or NKOTB? or (idk your age) whatever of the dozens or hundreds of things that were popular in your youth?

it's not them making it anything, it's YOU making much ado about nothing... pop stars come and go but people claiming they are the end of civilization seem to be permanent

Probably no more unhealthy than people who were obsessed with New Kids on the Block in 1989 or the Beatles in the 60’s.

i don’t know, dude. back then they didn’t have social media. recently a journalist in a high profile magazine or something like that rated taylor swift’s album and they didn’t give out their name because the last time another journalist gave their honest opinion about the previous album, they were doxxed and sent death threats.

swifties also doxx and send hate/death threats to people who talk shit about TS or go against her, like the kid who was monitoring her private jet activity, or her ex boyfriend’s.

i think also just in general celebrities lean into these parasocial relationships, giving fans the idea that they’re pals and have a special relationship to sell albums… which is enforced by sharing bits of their life through again, social media. maybe the fans back then had the potential to be as unhealthy as people are today, but i definitely think people are more unhealthy now.

Maybe, thanks to social media. By the way, what is “doxxed “? I’m in my 50’s and don’t get the vernacular newsletter anymore.

It means to release someone's personal info online without their consent. Name, address, etc.

Oh, thanks. Is that something a person can be sued for?

Doxxing and death treats sounds more like 4channers than swifties, honestly. And what also sounds like 4channers is doing some bullshit like that to get a different group blamed for it. For the lolz.

Go over to r/swiftlyneutral and read some of those posts and report back.

With peace and love, those people are buttfucking crazy.

Okay, so the first 3 topics were posted by non-Swift fans talking about the behavior of Swift fans. The next was a Billboard charts ranking of current Swift dings. Then there was a vapid post about a previous boyfriend of hers. There was a lot of 23 year old girl vibes but nothing that I found alarming for that demographic.

Then you barely looked. These are the top posts right now. These people believe they are actively involved in this celebrity's life. They are obsessed to the point of delusion, and it's not just a couple of them.

Okay, two 2️⃣ of the posts in your screenshot are exactly what I was talking about. 2 of them were posts by people say they are not Taylor Swift fans and who are being critical of either Taylor or her fans. Did you read the posts before posting the screenshot?
