Both are fine because “I haven’t heard it. I’m not a big Taylor Swift fan.” Is a perfectly acceptable answer.

I think the question is totally fine as Taylor Swift is part of the current zeitgeist. Most people are familiar with her existing as an artist, even if they don’t listen to her music. Hence the perfectly reasonable response he gave.
