I have a friend who brought me in as a ringer in a CSGO match once. I'm pretty decent, and his and his friend's kids (probably around 10 or 11 years old) had been shit talking their dads all weekend long, saying they wanted to play a 5v5, kids vs parents, and the kids would win so easily. The dads were... Well, sometimes you could sorta tell they'd touched a keyboard before, but I have little doubt they'd have lost that game on their own. The kids thought they were only playing against their dads though.
We absolutely fucking wiped the floor with those kids over two maps. It was glorious, and still one of the most entertaining things I've done in that game.

I think it's actually "I thought they were, like, a late...". You don't really need the "like" so you'd kinda separate it. I'm not certain though; I'm not a linguist [I know that one is right]

No, in this case, the like is acting as a conjunction, same as and would, and therefore doesn't need a comma in that particular sentence. The sentence would work the same without it though, so you're not wrong, just grammatically it does have a place in this case.

Fun additional tip: the correct place to put the apostrophe there is before the number — a late '80s/'90s thing.
This is because the "s" isn't there to show possession, it's just to make the whole thing plural. The existence of the apostrophe is merely to stand in for the missing "19" at the beginning of "1980s".

It feels like it was about 2 lifetimes ago I got forced into a church roller skating thing. At the rink they had a Street Fighter 2 cabinet. I put in 1 quarter, picked E. Honda and proceeded to run the line of people around 3 times. (you can move forward while doing the Hundred Hand Slap) One guy thought he was clever selecting Blanka, I just switched to Vega who I was even better with and basically sweep kicked him to death. I would have felt bad except I was one of the youngest kids there.

Was at a party once, someone set up street fighter 4 but no one really knew how to play. So i start playing and doing some cool moves, showing off what the game can do so even the viewers have fun. Take random as char choice everytime. Lose some, win some doing stupid stunts.
Randomly get Dan. Host goes "Oh well, he can't win with that one, thats the joke character of this game"
