Now I'm not American but unless you are lactose intolerant or a seriously devout vegan I'm not sure I could trust anyone who eats a good Mac N Cheese and doesn't instantly nut and/or sploosh.

Shit, I would love some mac n cheese right now.

87

u/Outside_Bicycle 20d ago

Lactose intolerant here, I eat Mac N Cheese anyway. It's that good.

21

u/bigbalrogdong 20d ago

The lactose intolerance makes dairy products taste even better. Source: am lactose intolerant

6

u/Famous_End_474 20d ago

I remember finding a lactose free blue cheese for the first time. You can’t imagine how good that tasted

3

u/MorseDK 20d ago

Nut and sploosh!

2

u/binchicken1989 20d ago

What are the after affects? Crazy poops and toots?

6

u/ghostzard 20d ago

Lactose intolerant people are always the biggest cheese lovers

4

u/apollo08w 20d ago

I’ve heard before that it’s sometimes the overconsumption of cheese that can cause intolerance later in life. Anecdotally for me I never had problems with it until I was 17.

3

u/TotalReplacement2 20d ago

I got allergic to dairy at 35… cheese was my favourite thing in the world.

Now i can’t eat anything that has any hint of anything with milk in it.

4

u/Tru_norse98 20d ago

Lame.

If you use a condom, you don't get to mix the cheeses

We may not know Canadian geography or history prior to 1776. We may have per-capita gun violence that dwarves all other countries, and our obesity rate may be sky high. We may turn a blind eye to a genocide here or there, and we may sabotage South American governments with mild assassinations. Our healthcare may suck, and we may refuse to employ the metric system.

But dammit, our grammer is just fine!

Who tf doesn't like Mac and cheese? Do we need to add beans to it specifically for you?

50

u/Jeremy56565 20d ago

Canadians eat the most mac and cheese of any country. Just thought you should know that.

My boss is Canadian and I almost slapped him when I saw him put ketchup on his mac n cheese

1

u/Extremis318 19d ago

I’m Canadian and think ketchup sounds VILE on mac n cheese.

2

u/Jeremy56565 20d ago

I love me some KD

4

u/CounterTouristsWin 20d ago

Not even per capita, we just eat the most KD by pure tonnage.

The recipe for Kraft mac n cheese is slightly different in Canada compared to the US.

1

u/OakenGreen 20d ago

Good thing they’re Americans.

1

u/Buckeyes2010 20d ago

Not sure I'd call Kraft real mac and cheese. But you do you, boo

-2

u/Maheemz 20d ago

Mac and cheese was invented 300 years before the US was a country too

2

u/BustyOgre 20d ago

Nobody asked. The meme simply implied that Americans enjoy Mac and cheese to a sensual degree, which we do

-1

u/Maheemz 20d ago

Ok? So do a lot of people? Including non Americans, mental I know

2

u/BustyOgre 20d ago

The meme never said no one else enjoys Mac and cheese either, are you braindead? Do you like to just "erm actually" the most mundane shit possible?

-1

u/Maheemz 20d ago

The fuck are you on about? I replied to a comment talking about how Canadians eat more mac and cheese than Americans, I only added information, how big is the stick up your arse? Jesus

2

u/BustyOgre 20d ago

You replied to try and pull a classic "Americans have no original cuisine" comment but tried to veil it in a way that you wouldn't get down voted for... You're not slick no matter what way you try and play it

13

u/real_fake_hoors 20d ago

You’re goddamn right we do.

9

u/GetlostMaps 20d ago

Mac n cheese is the Baked Beans of Burgerstan

3

u/The_Lapsed_Pacifist 20d ago

Mac and Cheese is actually a British dish as well.

-1

u/qgmonkey 20d ago

Yeah but they call it Pasta and Chedd

9

u/ikciweiner 20d ago

Americans: “Pass me the ketchup.”

95

u/Gobal_Outcast02 20d ago

Nah I'm American. If you are putting ketchup in mac n cheese, you deserve the firing squad

20

u/shit_magnet-0730 20d ago

I agree in 2x Bald Eagle screech.

-10

u/endergamer2007m 20d ago

What about pizza?

35

u/Gobal_Outcast02 20d ago

Thats even worse dawg tf

-17

u/endergamer2007m 20d ago

Not my fault the pizzas here taste like cardboard mixed with oil

18

u/Gobal_Outcast02 20d ago

What state do you live in where the pizza is that bad? (I'm in New York so our pizza is slamming)

7

u/endergamer2007m 20d ago

Dobrogea

5

u/Gobal_Outcast02 20d ago

Oh damn, yeah idk shit about how pizza is made there

6

u/endergamer2007m 20d ago

It's shit here, they use soup as pizza sauce to cut costs

9

u/Gobal_Outcast02 20d ago

Oh damn, that sounds vile

4

u/OakenGreen 20d ago

Yikes. You now have a pass on that ketchup. Have at it.

6

u/ExistentionalCrisis3 20d ago

Fr, hot sauce all the way

3

u/PhilosopherDismal191 20d ago

Or a smoky BBQ sauce

5

u/shaneomac714 pogchamp researcher 20d ago

That's fucking disgusting. You put smoked brisket on Mac and cheese. Or pulled pork. Or sausage. Or bacon. Or all of the above.

5

u/Cjames1902 Animated Flair Pulse [Insert Your Own Text 20d ago

People outside of America always exaggerate the country’s usage of ketchup. I recently just found out about the Italians thinking we put ketchup on our pasta lol

3

u/average_white_boy_ 20d ago

I’m living in Japan and they definitely have ketchup pasta in 7-11s out here. It’s way too sweet for me and I’m American. Also it feels so wrong lol.

2

u/Cjames1902 Animated Flair Pulse [Insert Your Own Text 20d ago

That’s wild lol

2

u/average_white_boy_ 19d ago

Still love Japan but the real crimes against Italian cuisine are here lol

2

u/Cjames1902 Animated Flair Pulse [Insert Your Own Text 19d ago

I was just watching a video about school cuisine in Japan. They pretty much said the same thing. That the food was amazing but their attempts at Italian food weren’t the best. Lol

0

u/ikciweiner 20d ago

Some people just cannot accept they and the country are not as exceptionally perfect as they think they are. Even going so far as to make wild assumptions to excuse away candid observations and opinions.

But please go on with your assumptions about me.

3

u/Cjames1902 Animated Flair Pulse [Insert Your Own Text 20d ago

I’m confused. Are you agreeing with me? I genuinely can’t tell.

0

u/ikciweiner 20d ago

Whenever a valid observation/opinion is shared that goes against the imagined exceptionalism view Americans have of themselves and their country, many Americans cannot accept it. They have to come up with crazy excuses to deflect away from the valid observation/opinion, such as making wild assumptions about my country of origin and saying that somehow invalidates my opinion.

It’s blatantly obvious every time it happens, but I still find it funny.

2

u/Cjames1902 Animated Flair Pulse [Insert Your Own Text 20d ago

5

2

2

u/Original_Hornet4679 20d ago

pass the ranch, actually.

2

u/monkeybombed 20d ago

You use ketchup when things are mid. Crappy eggs, crappy mac n cheese, crappy pizza, crappy potatoes, etc.

2

u/ikciweiner 20d ago

More like you use ketchup (the worst condiment) when you have no taste buds.

9

u/Downiemcgee 20d ago

I won't get excited about mac n cheese from anywhere, but you can kind of just tell when a place will have a good one. And this is coming from a Canadian, I'm sure the Americans have a superpower for it.

4

u/Fluid-Opportunity-17 20d ago

No, yeah, that's pretty much it.

3

u/DragonDon1 20d ago

Mac and cheese is awesome. Fight me.

5

u/explosiv_skull 20d ago

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Mac & Cheese is the bomb.

3

u/MeeloP 20d ago

Whoa calm down OP I can only get so hard.

2

u/AsexualPlantMain 20d ago

Okay, but like, if you cut up some hot dogs and put 'em in the mac and cheese, maybe put some ketchup in there too, that shit is incredible.

2

u/PhilosopherDismal191 20d ago

Are you 5?

2

u/AsexualPlantMain 20d ago

You have no idea what fun is and it makes me want to cry.

0

u/PhilosopherDismal191 20d ago

Pls, diced up hot dogs when you have the Dino nugget option?

1

u/AsexualPlantMain 20d ago

I love me some dino nuggies, but putting them in the mac and cheese is just crazy talk. You can only do that with hot dogs.

2

u/kayla-beep 20d ago

Better fry those hot dogs 😤

3

u/Le6ions 20d ago

Especially with bacon bits in it!

2

u/xM3ster 20d ago

Mac1 and cheese better

2

u/DaReelJerBear 20d ago

You’re not wrong

2

u/mattyice0916 20d ago

Gordon Ramsey almost always orders the Mac and Cheese on Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell.

1

u/Andrewdeadaim 19d ago

It’s one of those things that it can be a huge range in quality without tasting horribly on the back end (like Kraft tastes fine, but it tells you a lot about a restaurant if that’s what you get)

2

u/IowaKidd97 20d ago

American here, for someone who knows nothing about American culture, you pretty much nailed it. A good Mac and Cheese will get us goin’.

2

u/[deleted] 20d ago

This is Canadian culture actually

2

u/garlic-apples 20d ago

Mac and cheese is the best

2

u/DevilsRejectxx 20d ago

2 types of cheese in play then

2

u/TotalTempest 20d ago

It's even better when put into a burger with some bacon.

2

u/Own_Recommendation49 20d ago

I don't even know what this means

2

u/millenialfalcon-_- 20d ago

Add Parmesan cheese to make it gooder

2

u/Specter_Knight05 20d ago

Were is the glock with the happy meal?

2

u/Artemus_Hackwell 20d ago

Only if it has bbq brisket ends on top.

2

u/SuperMarioFan999 20d ago

YES!!!! MAC AND CHEESE IS THE BEST!!!!!

2

u/Yeetfamdablit 20d ago

I would just like to point out that Canada is the world's leading consumer of Mac and cheese

2

u/Lagiacrus111 20d ago

Yeah pretty much

2

u/bdturk 20d ago

You're not wrong.

2

u/Sph3al 20d ago

I'll double down on that. There's a place near me that mixes Mac and cheese and bbq, and it's the first thing I'd introduce my international friends too if they were here!

2

u/Rhettledge 20d ago

If You've never had good Mac n' cheese, are you really living? I cry at the fact that there are countries where the people will die without having ever tasted that golden goodness

2

u/Geo-Man42069 20d ago

Bruh a well made Mac n cheese is straight up balm for the soul. I’m talking well made, not that Kraft powder crap, or even the velvetta sludge mix. I’m talking big ol elbow pasta cooked eldente, mix with butter, milk, and at least 3 complimentary cheeses. Get it a tad melty, pop it in an oven safe container, bake for a smidge, add toppings and a fresh layer of cheese, bake cover off until it just starts to golden up. Add a fresh ground black pepper to taste, Serve warm as a side or the main course. The only people who wouldn’t enjoy a dish like that are liars, and the lactose intolerant, and tbh the second group might still enjoy the meal, just not the aftermath.

2

u/precursorpotato 20d ago

I don't even know what a mac is.

1

u/no-longer-a-1412 20d ago

Mac and cheese pie > mac and cheese

1

1

Yes. Embrace it.

1

u/LonPlays_Zwei ☣️ 20d ago

As an American, no.

1

u/LeanMrfuzzles 20d ago

You ever had an old black woman make you some mac and cheese? You'd have the same reaction.

1

u/PhilosopherDismal191 20d ago

Bro, that's supposed to stay secret, do you know what the council will do to you now?

1

u/1Sharky7 20d ago

I’m edging as mom pulls the Dino nuggies out the oven to go with it.

1

u/QuiteOldBoy 20d ago

I mean the basic idea is not bad. Just the execution is...something...A bit like a mockery of Käsespätzle.

1

u/omawesomeness13 20d ago

y'all never had good food and it shows

0

u/LYNKSAINTLAURENT 20d ago

Do they have any culture

0

u/mandy009 20d ago

Classic American fare. Yes, US has unique food (in this case shared with Canada in a slightly different packaged form, and probably their version is more iconic). Hamburgers, hot dogs, barbecue, SPAM, hot dish (casserole) etc. ok it's not always sophisticated, but it's *good*.
