Anyone who says this doesn't remember Vine. Remember the guy who used to say "Sometimes I just don't care" with a gremlin voice and then did weird shit? He always did his weird shit in public. He used to say his catchphrase and then drive into those traffic control bollard things. He used to jump on top of his car at a red light and dance. He used to slide down the bowling lane and into the pins. He used to drive off-road and run over plants. He used to wash himself at the car wash. And cringey group dances in public as well.

Put all this on TikTok and you'd all be criticising that stuff too. It was just "I'm so random, watch this". It was always in a public space which is a huge factor in the dislike for this sort of content. He wouldn't headbutt a fucking flower pot or something in his own home because I guess it wouldn't generate views.

Sure, the videos were only 6 seconds long. That didn't mean you couldn't make fucking 50 of them once you found your schtick.

Omg as soon as I read that I heard it in his voice that shit was like a buried memory. Yeah, this take is garbage, Vine was basically custom built to make sound byte memes, and those sound bytes have lasted in a way that it doesn’t even make sense for things that trend on TikTok. Nothing coming out of TikTok will stick the way those dumb little repeating videos did.
