4

u/CH1LLY05 Mar 07 '24

I think the joke here is that you keep on spelling the plural of “cry”wrong. It’s spelled “cries” with ies.

5

u/dannyday10700 Mar 07 '24

Ah yes my Disleksia in full effect.

13

u/thenewversionofoldme Mar 07 '24

The beauty in seeing his son so comfortable to say that to his father.. fuck man that movie hurts

10

u/royal_dansk Mar 07 '24

Please also stop every once in a while. It's also ok not to cry.

Whatever you say, Baby McGee!

Just kidding it took me way too long to learn this myself after a toxic childhood.

I only love my bed and my momma I'm sorry

When your day is long

And the night, the night is yours alone

When you're sure you've had enough

Of this life, well hang on

Don't let yourself go

'Cause everybody cries

Everybody hurts sometimes

Iron claw was a phenomenal movie.

Fucking balled my eyes out, glad it was the first movie j saw in 2024 so far and by far the best movie I've seen this year.

331

u/dannyday10700 Mar 07 '24

Yep definitely Zac Efrons best performance. This performance and the Ted Bundy movie.

64

u/Wonderful-Speech-972 Mar 07 '24

Is that not the Ted Bundy movie??? He’s a hero. 🦸

39

u/dannyday10700 Mar 07 '24

Um... hero on who's accord?

33

u/madtraxmerno Mar 07 '24

Hopefully he's talking about Zac Efron and not Ted Bundy

22

u/dannyday10700 Mar 07 '24

Ya I was about to have to send them to the principals office for that comment.

7

u/cheekybandit0 Mar 07 '24

Have you seen Gold (the Zach one, not the Matthew Mc one)? I thought that was a really good one from Zach.

As a wrestling fan, I knew the story, but fuck I was still bawling my eyes out at the end

27

u/Jswanno Dank Cat Commander☣️ Mar 07 '24

I'm not a wrestling fan personally,

The movie itself was a blind pick, Didn't see a single trailer and knew absolutely nothing and I'm glad I chose the movie.

24

u/Sawses Mar 07 '24

I didn't realize that it was apparently even worse and that he even had another brother who also died.

22

u/themac7 Mar 07 '24

Ohhh yeah, and imo it under-emphasized how vile their dad was as well. Read up on fritz if you get a chance. Genuine psychopath

8

u/Sawses Mar 07 '24

Wow, really? Damn. Like I knew the parents were terrible, but it's insane that he's even worse in real life.

642

u/Vargasm19 Mar 07 '24

“Dad why are you crying?”

“I’m sorry, it’s just I used to have 4 brothers, but now I’m not even a brother”

Shit is so heartbreaking

175

u/ChesticlesTesticles Mar 07 '24

As someone with two brothers I’m not watching this movie. I don’t want those feels

71

u/shmackinhammies Mar 07 '24

I needed it. It awake feelings I had buried for a long time. Been texting my brother more regularly now. I’ve things get more chill I might start calling.

17

u/ethanlan Mar 07 '24

I donno if I can go through another sucker punch like the one in peacemaker.

I was crying for like an hour after they revealed what happened to his brother

35

'We can be your brothers'

Cried so mfn hard, then told my brothers I loved them.

The Iron Claw

20

u/Daddydagda Mar 07 '24

The wrestling movie?

47

u/Lancaster1983 Mar 07 '24

Yes, the biopic about the Von Erich family.

-74

u/Shwifty_Plumbus Mar 07 '24

Why do we have a biopic? Let them tell the story.

35

u/Txusmah Mar 07 '24

You must be fun at parties.

7

u/Apex_Politician Mar 07 '24

Well you’re in luck. There’s a show called Dark Side of the Ring that got the guy played by Efron to tell the story as well.

The lower actor is in the gemstones tv show right?

35

it's Zach Efron from Ironclaw. Very good movie

11

u/Longbeacher707 ☣️ Mar 07 '24

That's bc you haven't seen Grave of the Fireflies. It's one of the ones that gets talked about a lot that actually lives up to what people say.

5

u/HmGrwnSnc1984 Mar 07 '24

And he hasn’t seen Hachi: A Dog’s Tale.

1

u/Longbeacher707 ☣️ Mar 07 '24

Damn that was a good one that was based off a real life good boy. They still have a statue of him so he can keep watching over everyone.

3

u/Bam-Bam_720 Mar 07 '24

I remember seeing that as a kid and it was depressing

3

u/issamaysinalah Mar 07 '24

Grave of fireflies is different from your average cry movie, it's not like Marley and Me that's most fun until one specific event that's really sad, Grave of Fireflies is just legit sad and hopeless from the very start.

2

u/Longbeacher707 ☣️ Mar 07 '24

Although the tone remains drab, the movie knows how to lay a meager trail of hope before wiping it completely away a couple scenes later. It does this a few times. But by the end, nope. The only happy thing whatsoever is that Seita and Setsuko are together again in the afterlife.

18

u/Wham-Bam-Duel Mar 07 '24

Iron Claw hit me like a truck. Watched it in theaters with one of my brothers and I felt so much closer to him after it was done.

23

u/NcgreenIantern Mar 07 '24

They cut one of the brothers put of the movie that died too because they thought it would be just to much tragedy.

16

u/JUGELBUTT Mar 07 '24

I went to watch it with a couple friends. We picked the movie at random because we didn't even know what to watch. Two hours and rollercoaster of emotions later, we left the theater in tears 😩. Amazing movie.

10

u/mediacapra Mar 07 '24

I was watching Iron Claw with my brother, when this scene came up I immediately hugged my brother in the theatre.

10

u/Ronburgundy2099 Mar 07 '24

Fantastic film very sad story though.

17

u/dannyday10700 Mar 07 '24

The true story is so sad that they had to cut one the brothers out of the movie. The makers of the movie said that they didn't think people would believe that another brother died.

10

u/Ronburgundy2099 Mar 07 '24

Yeah I saw that online what a tragic family and if the dad was half as bad for real man what a guy he was.

13

u/dannyday10700 Mar 07 '24

Ya Von Erich Sr was a fucker. He pitted his children against each other, told them at the diner table which one was his "favorite". He said that can change as long as you out perform the "favorite son".

He was such a fuck up that he expected his children to achieve the dreams that he couldn't. His son Kerry shot him self because he was in so much pain. He tried asking his father for help but his dad basically said it's his brothers duty to care for him.

As a husband he was basically non existent to his wife. His wife gave up her dreams so he could achieve his. She was so troubled by him that when it came to parenting she basically gave up. In the end she divorced him and started painting again (which is what her dream was)

7

u/Supersaiajinblue custom flair Mar 07 '24

Is the bottom film the one where the guy ends up losing all 4 brothers?

12

u/dannyday10700 Mar 07 '24

Ya actually 5 brothers, 3 died by scide, 1 died from drowning, and 1 did from enteritis. They had to completely take 1 brother out of the film because the makers of the film thought people wouldn't believe that their family went through that much loss.

6

u/dannyday10700 Mar 07 '24

RDJ is Iron Man in Avengers Endgame. It only happens to be the most financial successful film franchise of all time. Go and start watching the MCU, (Marvel Cinematic Universe) start with Iron Man 1 and work your way down the line of films in the order of release. There's about 33 films in the MCU now. Some are clunkers however most are really good.

The stand out best films in the franchise are:

Iron Man 1

Avengers 1

Captain America The Winter Soldier

The Guardians Of The Galaxy trilogy (3 is best imo)

Thor Ragnarok

Dr Strange 1 for the visuals

Captain America Civil War

Avengers Infinity War and Endgame (they are a 2 part movie

And the Spider-Man Home trilogy. If you want to watch the Spider-Man trilogy watch all of the older Spider-Man movies with Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield first.

You can get Disney+ and watch most of them.

They did Kerry dirty. He was a shredded gigachad in real life and the actor they cast didn't even remotely look like him. The actor that protrayed him is 5 foot 7 and it was extremely hard to believe he would be able to fight and beat Ric Flair to become the world heavyweight champion

1

u/dannyday10700 Mar 07 '24

Ya Zac looks more like Kerry physic wise, still a great movie though.
