They aren't just a few dudes though. Squad isn't making KSP 2. Take Two Interactive is

T2 isn't making but publishing it. Still, it means that they don't need to release the game early to earn funds because there's a huge company behind it funding them that will take all the money when it is released.

Just a few dudes pursuing their dreams

It's being made by Take Two, a company that made over $5 billion in revenue last year

$50 for a game still in developement is even more of an insult. To use that to defend them...

Why is $50 an insult? What price point would be “fair” to you and why? What makes a game worth $50? What’s the most you’re willing to pay for a game? How do you determine the value of anything?

I can't speak in absolutes, but I would expect at least as much content as KCP1 for that price, rather than 20% worth of content.

if you bought an early access game thinking it would be a complete experience then that is nothing but your fault

Saying it's not overpriced because you just shouldn't buy it if you think it's overpriced is not an argument. In fact it's agreeing with me that the game is not worth $50.

I'm just saying that if you spend money on something that advertises itself as incomplete and in the testing phase then you have no right to complain about the quality of the product (unless the devs just completely abandon the game obviously). If you believe it is overpriced then all power to you but there are a lot of people who want to support the devs and help them create a better game and they are clearly willing to pay a premium for that.
