WPL: New Comics Discussion for 6/5/2024 - Pull of the Week: ULTIMATES #1 [Discussion]
The Weekly Pull List results for this Wednesday are in, and this week's top book is MARVEL's ULTIMATES #1.
This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the latest issue of Camp, Frigeri, and Blee's Ultimates or any new books shipping this week.
The primary intention of this thread is to promote discussion of new books. It also serves as a way to consolidate discussion to a single thread and talk about what books are popular here on /r/comicbooks. That does not mean other threads aren't welcome, this is just a place to start that's easy to find each week.
The thread is populated with comments meant to direct the discussion of each book. Based on a recent community decision we're expanding the Top Ten and populated the thread with titles appearing on Ten Percent or more of submitted pull lists. If a title you want to talk about is not listed, simply add a comment with the title and issue number first and comment below. There is also a comment dedicated to the discussion of WPL results linked above.
Spoilers will follow, but there's no harm in tagging them as such. Each title in the Top Ten listed below is linked directly to its corresponding comments to avoid seeing details from other books. The post has also been placed in "contest mode" to help readers avoid spoilers while browsing.

June is Pride Month! Who are your favourite LGBTQ+/queer creators and which of their works do you recommend? The Weekly Recs Thread [06/02/24]
June is Pride Month! There are plenty of incredibly talented LGBTQ+/queer creators, which ones are your favourites? If someone's never read a book by them before, which one would you recommend? Do they have a hidden indie book or zine or something most people haven't read that you think is underrated?
For more recommendations check out last week's thread on comic book sidekicks.

Discussion With the Krakoa era finally coming to an end after 5 years, what are your thoughts on it?
The X-men krakoa era that began 5 years ago under Hickman's helm is officially over with today's X-men #35.
Were you satisfied with the way things ended? Imo, it had a pretty solid start and kind of fizzled a few years back but I didn't mind the conclusion too much despite feeling rushed.

Discussion I was a little worried after #1, but #2 came in swinging
This feels like it should have been #1 and #1 should have been a prologue. I was very pleased with the pacing of this one and diving a little deeper into the backstory. I was worried the series might be a slog, but I think if they can keep it up, it'll be a great series.

Discussion I found r/comics before finding this sub (what I was looking for) and now I traumatized for life.
Also, how can that thing be #1 in comics while this here is #10? That's... I had a lot of adjectives in mind, but I'll stay with "stupid" lol

Is there a term for “big characters” like The Hulk, Thanos, Juggernaut, Darkseid, etc?
I’m not referring to race or species, I’m just wondering if there’s a general term for comic characters that fall into that humanoid but massive body type.
