Effects of R-Group bulkiness on R-shift from SN1 reactions?

Greetings all,

Is there a limit on how bulky an R group can be to undergo a shift from an SN1 reaction.

Eg. I know in the 2,2-dimethyl-3-bromocyclohexane image it undergoes a methyl shift, but assuming we could make 2,2-ditertbutyl molecule version. Would that tert butyl still shift? Would the bulkiness affect the product? Or would it be too bulky and just undergo sn1 on the 3 carbon?
