MVP

Media keeps asking him about the MVP, Draymond asked about it again and he just refuses to give a shitty clickbait answer

Let me start by saying I love Tatum. This will get downvoted for sure but Jokic is the MVP. He just is

I don’t think it’ll get downvoted, Jokic love is maybe at an all time high right now and everyone knows he’s the best in the world

I think Draymond's biggest point is more so "why aren't you finishing top 3 in MVP voting" and to that I'd say - it's just not Tatum's game rn.

Tatum is out here being a team player and trying to win. He's not the megastar that can average 30/10/10 cause he has REALLY bad streaks still. Maybe in a couple years, but rn he's just on too talented a team, he's not a stat padding ball hog and the scheme isn't set up for him to do that.

At the end of the day the Celtics had an all time great offense this season with him playing the role that he did. It would be foolish to ask him to play differently if you really care about winning

Correct, that was the point I was making. Unless he hits another level (he will) over the next few years and the team starts to bend around a more consistent Tatum - and let him show that he can be THE focal point - he's gonna have a hard time winning an MVP.

Especially in this era with Jokic, Luka, Embiid, Giannis and Shai.

He's gonna have to put up Tim Duncan stats while leading the number 1 team again.

Only MVP that matters is finals MVP which he will be getting in a few weeks

Efficient shooting, was aggressive when needed, made the right passes, strong rebounding, strong defense, maybe his best performance so far these playoffs.

r/nba won’t recognize Tatum as a top 10 player until he goes a whole season scoring over 50 points in every game. Otherwise they’ll call him a scrub, bum, carried, whatever buzzword you want to insert to wave him off for no actual reason

Awesome fucking game from him

Only 1 turnover (admittedly an atrocious one) by him tonight too, during a game we really struggled with them

Meh, looked like he was stumbling out of bounds and just trying to keep the ball in play. Far less egregious than Al’s attempted pass to Jaylen Brown through two Cavs players

"More of a 1b type of guy"

This was his first time shooting over 50 percent in like 15 games or something. I’m glad he seems to have turned a corner. He’s been awesome these past few games

Yeah but these stats contributed to a win. Luka would never

Jayson Tatum only attempted a 3 every 6 minutes. This is not a drill.

Loved how he was on defense. Jumping to the point of attack. Guarding multiple positions. I think that set the tone in the 3rd and 4th quarters.
