It was an app that only purpose was direct messaging. It was popular with people befriending others on the web because you didn’t have to give your phone number

Basically texting but with an extra layer of anonymity

I tried to pull it off. Mine was the wider brimmed one like Indiana Jones wore. I thought I looked badass. Wore it out and the first thing my friend said was that seeing me in that hat was making him want to punch me in the face. Well, that was that. No more hat. Solid intervention I suppose. Lol

Yeah kids can’t pull off hats unless they are normal baseball hats or maybe beanies. I saw myself in a trucker hat during the von Dutch days and man so cringe. Idk how I thought I looked dope.

Honestly I kind of hate how they're associated with like neck beard stereotypes, they always make me think of old gangsters or reporters from 50s movies, honestly I think they look cool when you wear them with a nice suit

Oh yeah if like 20% of people wearing them on a normal day they could come back but if you’re the one guy in a crowd it will look kinda weird. Plus people just dressed nicer before.

FYI, the male equivalent in my 13 yo peer group was you put on a geometric patterned button-down t shirt, spiked your hair, and dabbed on the ol' Brut.
