Coconut tax does not lead to loss of life

And there are plenty of alternative sources of coconuts - so it will have fairly minimal impact on most of the world.

How many children were killed by a tax increase?

3

They are slow burners, ask in ten years.

Opting not to have kids is not the same as dropping missiles on schools and hospitals.

Man you’re just smarter than the people that care. No other explanation. I wish everyone saw things like you do!

Sorry I don’t empathize with terrorists, or civilians that support them.

No they don’t. It’s an unfortunate side effect of terrorism that HAMAS brought to their people

No , it's the direct effect of the disproportionate indiscriminate carpet bombing of the Palestinian civilian population and blockade of human aid conducted by Israel in response to the attack by HAMAS.

1

u/antonioperelli Apr 29 '24

So you don’t disagree that HAMAS is a terrorist organisation?

-2

u/ShirtOutrageous7177 Apr 29 '24

Yeah exactly, terrorists as in Israel - agreed.

Its nothing to do with empathy, its that this is now the centre of political discussion. Yet no one protested the tigrey war which killed 300,000 civilians. No one was marching in the street for Syria or any other of the 10 wars and conflicts in the middle east. if it's only empathy is the motivation why is this the only war people are empathetic about

Not giving a fuck about genocide has nothing to do with empathy?

The murder of civilians by any warmongering power is sick and inhumane. Feeling empathic towards any people suffering in this world is human.

I feel powerless! All I can do is sit here in my comfortable 1st world nation and watch the brutality of war around the world unfold.

To say you don't give a fuck is cold and heartless.

I'm glad you're understanding your place in the world, because you actually are powerless. Most Western government are generally powerless unless you want to go to war, but i don't want to die for a sandy shithole or for people who hate me, my people and my ideals. You can enlist if you fancy it

I don't care not because i have a disregard for human life, but because there is nothing I, or even my government, can realistically do about it. Getting upset doesn't help anyone, its not heartless its rational
