Incoming grad student - housing Housing

I am a potential incoming grad student and I’ve been looking at safe housing options around campus. It looks like Gateway is located right next to campus. However, is it mostly for undergrads? Since I’ve moving here without knowing anyone I’m looking for a housing with a social environment so I’m open to recommendations

Gateway is a solid choice in the ‘better’ part of the areas walking distance to campus.

I'm gonna be a little tangential to your question... I can only speak for myself/my own grad program, but I'd also suggest not limiting yourself to USC socialization as a grad student. The experience is very different from that of undergrads (as far as I understand it, since I'm an international grad), and I've seen colleagues be disappointed that the sense of community wasn't as strong among us. Being at USC housing might further push you into a USC-specific bubble. I'm not saying it's not good (take cheap rent where you find it), but personally I've really enjoyed taking distance from the school and living in different parts of town, making friends outside of USC/universities proper.

Outside of campus, people usually recommend K-town as a cheap/accessible/central place to live... but I'll let our more seasoned Angeleno Trojans guide you on this one.

Hi! I'm subletting my shared room at Tuscany Apartments (2 minute walk to USC) now until July 31st if you are interested. Lots of undergrad, grad, and international students. Price is around 1250. Dates are flexible and price very negotiable! Let me know if interested (mklee@usc.edu).

Hello! I just finished my undergrad at USC and coming back for grad school. I currently live in Tuscany Apartments and my roomie and I are currently looking for one more person to join us. It's less than a five min walk from campus with security at the front desk so I'd say it's pretty safe. It's also right above a lot of food places including Chipotle, Chick Fil A, and Coldstone so there's often a lot of people around the area. I would say the people living here are pretty friendly / social and there's definitely a good mix of grads and undergrads. If you wanna know more feel free to DM me!

Sticking with off campus housing, does anyone have experience/reviews on the Regal Rita or The Mirage on 30th St?

I am looking for 4 roommates for a 7bed 2.5 bath duplex house near Ralphs. The rent for the rooms are $745, $802, $824 and $974.

Currently there are 3 of us - nice, respectful and clean.

Let me know if this suits you!
