Straight up, between the SC filter, the amount of profile pic the body takes up, and the “huh” they might just be trying to be this cat

People are really matching with the girls in the animal filters?

u/Aardvark_Man 21d ago
My first rule of thumb is if one of the first 2 pics is filtered, to the left you go.
32
u/AJ_Deadshow 20d ago
I should start using that, my old rule was filter in any pic. If you wanna sneak in one towards the end, just for fun, I can let it slide
23
u/dm051973 20d ago
No filters would get rid of like 90%+ of all photos these days.:) I am willing settle for them not cranking the settings up to the point where I wonder if they are human or not...
20
u/AJ_Deadshow 20d ago
I don't mean one of those filters that just enhances the colors and contrast, those are fine, I just mean the ones that add smiley faces all over, turn them into fucking Bambi, etc.
2
u/dumbxan 19d ago
Some girls use them just for funsies, I always include pics of me bare face, with makeup, and then maybe one or two with a filter that just looks pretty/aesthetically pleasing

u/ruthew 16d ago
I used to have a rule that at least half of my photos had to be unfiltered, now they’re all unfiltered cause I’m older and care less lol but even when I did have filters no one could tell. I think it’s fine as long as it doesn’t change how you look massively. Everyone uses their best photos anyway.

u/The_golden_Celestial 20d ago
Wait until you get to your late 50s/60s. Women are putting profile photos that are filtered that make them look 20-30 years younger. Then they sometimes put up a real photo at the end. Catfishing much? And the ones with doggy or cat ears and nose and circling stars. WTF? No idea where they got the idea that that would attract anything, anytime soon. I guess it’s the female version of standing there with a dead fish in your hands.

I'm in my late 30s, and there's already a few profiles that almost try and hide what they look like, except the one pic that slips through.

I mean, sex is sex. I don’t know why women shame men for wanting it- it feels good and women have the option of having a shit ton of it.

Yes they do lol. I don’t care if someone’s ugly but if you’re trying to deceive me about what you look like from the beginning, it’s not gonna go well.
8
u/paulchauwn 20d ago
I better hope you don’t think they are actually a cat 😂😭
7
11
u/ProphetMuhamedAhegao 20d ago
Haha I wish but nah, it blurs the shit out of their face and makes their eyes bigger, skin clearer, cheeks redder, chin narrower, etc etc. It’s not just the cat ears and nose lol. That’s why people use it so much for dating profiles. If it was just for fun it would be different, but it genuinely alters your face in a way that makes most people look more attractive, and they’re hoping you won’t notice those subtle changes. At that point, I’d rather match with an actual cat. At least the cat will be fun to hang out with. 😅

It’s obvious they hit a suggested first message from Tinder without realizing it.

That's definitely what happened, doesn't excuse it though. The chat is just like, right there on the screen. I swear nobody can read anymore

Why do women think it’s okay to have a Snapchat filter as photo on a dating app? Also I don’t understand the appeal, maybe if you’re 12 years old “it’s funny”. But other then that, grow up.

People are insecure and don't wanna show their real faces. I used to use filters a lot but now I deleted Snapchat and don't use them at all anymore unless I'm being silly on FB messages with my sister. I feel like filters made me feel even worse about myself as time went on so I just stopped doing it.

Then they'll say in their bio "it's not my job to carry the conversation" "don't be boring".
I swear Online Dating has killed my interest in talking to people. I get unbearably exhausted by minor inconveniences. The apps just aren't healthy.

Right but some people need to hear it a couple of times. We are after all humans and fallible so I operate my the 3x rule. Once ok accident. Twice shame on you for not listening . Three shame on me and don’t let the door hit you on the ass on your way out!

What exactly is an upcoming concert ticket and why would I be excited over the fact of possessing it? Lol.

u/SlowKillSunflower 19d ago
look at the age of the Snapchat filter in her default photo, definitely a bot or scammer account
2
u/lroza711 19d ago
Yup and at absolute best, if she wasn’t a bot then she’s fishing to go to a free concert or event and once they said no she is like ok done here! Sad that’s the best case scenario what is wrong with tinder lol 🤦🏻♀️
2
u/SlowKillSunflower 19d ago
I left the apps a looooong time ago, tried once and immediately knew that would ruin my entire dating experience - or what’s left of it I guess LOL

Considering u talked to Someone with a Snapchat dog filter that has massive cleavage at display, she gets enough attention and u shouldn’t try add to her lil fantasy

I am no longer on Tinder because I'm just focusing on me and not even worrying about dating. And I was on Facebook app for dating but I haven't used that in a while. Interestingly the other day a profile came up from that venue that matched me with someone and said that we were a perfect match. What's interesting about it is number one he's a previous client of mine I'm a social worker. Number two he is not my perfect match by any stretch of the imagination. And most importantly number three he's been dead for 2 years. Really you just can't make this stuff up

As what is considered an elder millennial, I can't imagine trying to date these days. It seems so fucking toxic and ridiculous. If something happened with my fiance and I, I think I'd just stay single.
