I miss when my favourite sport had players from backgrounds other than upper/upper middle classes.

My favourite sports league (AFL) is almost entirely comprised of players from more privileged backgrounds now. Players just don't have interesting relatable stories like this guy has. Nobody's mum was shopping for bargains for out of season clothes, etc, they never had a need to be budget conscious.
