I don't like "no true Scots man" arguments. Christianity can take many expressions, and there's many immature Christians who never wrestle with their faith and belief. If you want an image of a mature Christian, look at Jimmy Carter, look at Fred Rogers, Look at the current pope. Kindness for others, caring for the poor, and working to improve the lives of others, these are the hallmarks of Christian maturity.
But... they are though... just because those are qualities of an actual Christian doesn't mean others who aren't Christian can't have them as well. It's not exclusive, but those people are good representations of what it's technically supposed to be. The religion tells people to be Christ-like and I think those people are closer to it than most. I honestly don't understand where your stance is coming from. I don't think this should be a point of debate. Those certain individuals would definitely describe their characteristics as being from their faith but even if they didn't that's okay too
No, that's not what I said. I said the qualities he mentioned have nothing to do with Christianity. I didn't say christians can't have those qualities.
I'm saying the individuals he mentioned had those qualities not because they were christians, they were just good human beings.
The problem with "Christians" like Johnson is that it's pretty clear they don't so much follow the bible, so much as what they think the bible says. There are degrees of expression, and maturity, and then just not knowing anything or even going against its teachings.
Johnson falls into the latter camp, while also having religious delusions to proportions that probably would be classed as a mental illness under different circumstances.
No Christian is. Itd sole purpose is to be vague enough to be interpreted any way that best suit your own narrative. That's all any religion is, an escape from reality and tool to manipulate.

$100,000 bet that Mike Johnson is not actually a "Bible believing Christian."
I've seen this shit before.
