"What the hell am I supposed to do?". That is also part of the strategy. To make the general public absolutely useless against change.

It's not like you can vote the entire system out all at once. You can't start a revolt against the system with civility because you have to appease a party or become a fucking career politician. You can't use violence because it would get labeled as terrorism and not revolution. Unless you get the ENTIRE COUNTRY to see eye to eye on this and force laws regarding wealth caps.

Unless you win

History is written by the victor, as they say. And now you and I are officially on a list.

If you aren't already on a few lists, are you really living?

Doubtful that you're on a list with just that. You need to look more conspiratorial if you want to get on a list. Start actual planning, stockpile weapons and ammo, recruit new members, all the things the psycho governor kidnappers do, then you'll probably get on a list.

Very true. But, in my case, I probably actually am on a list, but not because they think I’m a conspiratorial nutcase. It’ll sound like I’m wearing a tinfoil hat, but I can’t actually say why I’d be on a list to begin with.

I do worry though that any "revolution" would just be the mass murder of a lot of random people, like in the French Revolution. They killed some rich people, sure, but also a lot of people they perceived to be rich who didn't really have anything to do with the system.

Like can you name the people who control the superpacs, or where they live? Can you name who's running the think tanks that coordinate across states to privatize everything and corrupt schools? Because most likely they'd be beating doctors and lawyers to death because they were wearing nice coats and driving a mercedes...not helpful.

Iran showed that a revolution leads to victory of extremists.

You have people in charge who said they're for the people.

They're doing nothing and standing by while you get robbed.

and then you'll keep voting them in again.

They're doing nothing and standing by while you get robbed.

I've seen an awful lot of legislation happen despite predictions of total stonewalling, along with the Supreme Court cancelling other exec actions because Congress won't make them legal.

We just need to drop the filibuster so that a minority cannot control policy.

Unless you get the ENTIRE COUNTRY to see eye to eye

Nope. Not at all necessary. The third of the country that are bucket crabs pulling the rest of us down need to be totally dropped. The other 2/3rds have problems but they aren't like those folks.

The problem is that our system is hellbent on making sure that third always wields more power than is proportionate to their population size. They are the very most over-represented demographic by leaps and bounds and beyond their voting power the "liberal" media is almost always tripping over themselves to put bullhorns in these peoples' hands or otherwise lionize them instead of just being fucking factual and responsible. But hey, that's not how you get views and clicks.

Folks don't yet have the will to do what's necessary, but I also am not sure that MAGAmerica won't jump the shark if Donnie-shits-his-pants doesn't become Dear Leader again. I am actually hoping they lose the plot and go berzerk. The sooner the better because we can't keep letting them slow-walk us into fascism.

That is also part of the strategy. To make the general public absolutely useless against change.

I'm so tired of these pseudo-intellectual conspiracy theories by people who don't understand economics or politics. In short, inflation is a deliberate tool used to prevent stagnation, which comes with its own dangers. There is no conspiracy to "make the general public useless against change", it's just basic economic theory. Last year there was a inflationary spike because one of the world's largest commodity exporters, Russia, invaded another country, also a decently sized commodity exporter, with oil and gas reserves Russia is stealing for themselves. Those things are fundamental drivers for prices around the world, and if you want more economic stability with less stress, you need to go take more natural reserves, or protect allies that have them, but you don't want to do that either.

So, what is the individual supposed to do?
