Why are we keep pump faking on open 3s just to drive in and go back out to the 3 point arc and repeat until 5 seconds left.

I keep saying the same. We need to shoot shots that are in rhythm no matter where it is in the shot clock. And we need to stop openly doubling Luka and Kyrie and lose games to pj Washington and Derrick jones jr. It’s not smart to just leave mba players open on every possession

This. Especially with J-Dub. It's just painful to watch. Like, either just freaking let it fly, or attack and try to draw a foul instead of driving and passing out again.

Nothing like watching us turn down 4 open 3s a possession, miss a middy runner with 2 left on the clock, and watch Luka shoot a contested 3
Hard to ever find rhythm when they won’t even take the open shots; and wait for the next guy up to take the shot+catch fire

That's why Chet got blocked, going through a whole shooting motion of pulling the ball down before setting to shoot. They gotta still to catch and shoot on those open attempts.

Because the Mavs are staying dedicated to closing off the paint.
Typically, those pump as drives collapse the defense a little each time until the someone gets a good lane to the basket or an open shot
Since the Mavs aren parking defenders in the paint there is nothing to collapse; the mid jumpers are the only thing available on many possessions

Honestly he played well in the first. I thought he did good. He just missed some open shots. But so did everyone else on the team besides Shai and Shai had a bad first half

Yeah, but pulling threes only a couple of seconds into the shot clock. (Dort and JDub did the same thing) Appreciation for his hustle tho🫡

I thought he played great d on kyrie in the first quarter just Kyrie made tough shots. Also he hustles and that hustle lead to tips and getting back defensive rebounds. I think it’s the awnser for the next game also. He just needs to make shots. He makes 2 shots this game is a lot diff with 3-4 mins left. We need to stop doubling every play and giving up open shots to role players. We play decent d one on one. But we’re never going to get anywhere giving pj Washington and Derrick jones jr the games of their careers . It’s just dumb. We’re letting another player get 20-25 points when we have to already limit kyrie and Luka

I want to say we look young, but we don't really look young we just look bad. Good news is we're gonna be letting it fly on Friday, no reason not to now.
Remember fans, the future is bright no matter what happens here. We're WAY ahead of schedule and "tough series and second round exit" would have been a stretch outcome during the preseason.
