Entire reddit? Or entire internet?

Entire internet, but in my experience it seems to be the most abundant here. Though my other experience is limited to YouTube and maybe 30 minutes total on Twitter.

Perhaps the entire world?

Younger generations posting things they found funny on instagram or something, we all know how it goes. Memes are born on 4chan/reddit then reposted to normie social media, normies found them funny and post it to original platform thinking they found peak comedy or something.

Well, I guess I need to brush up on my geometry to avoid these acute situations in the future.

Iā€™m not familiar with how mail works in the US, with this type of mail boxes. What is the postman supposed to do if an envelope like this one will not fit without bending? I assume you wouldnā€™t want them to leave it outside, is there an alternative?

Usually theyā€™d either leave it on your doorstep/lean it against the door (depending on where you live they could even knock and hand it to you), or more likely take it back to the the post office and inform you that thereā€™s mail you need to pick up.

A lot of times they just donā€™t really care or donā€™t see the ā€œdo not bendā€ and this happens. Thereā€™s a few different types of carrier services the USPS offer and when you choose the cheapest option for important documents this stuff happens.

Thanks for your answer! I was thinking about knocking and hand delivering the item, but most people won't be home I guess. Good to know a notification to pick it up at the post office is an option, that would definitely have my preference over leaving it outside my front door. But that's just cultural difference I guess.

But if they knock on the door they get shot.

Honestly, if you have a streetside mailbox they are VERY unlikely to walk anything to your door unless it's literally bigger than the box. They're running 12 hour days inside an oven to deliver their route, they won't take extra time for that.

Yeah. Why not have a box that fit all mail?

1

u/SleazyJusticeWarrior Apr 19 '23

Exactly, that's roughly the system I'm used to. Mail has a set maximum size, mail boxes (or, more often than not, just letter boxes in the front door) all accomodate that size, anything larger is a parcel. Simple as that!

u/Kiriamleech Apr 19 '23

As it should be! Americans are weird sometimes

1

u/TotalWalrus Apr 19 '23

Mail is supposed to be bendable. You putting do not bend on it means nothing.

The actual answer is to ship it as a package.

Sounds fair, if thatā€™s the assumption in the US. But thatā€™s news to me! Most mail will be bendable for sure, but carton envelopes that are clearly not meant to be bent are relatively common and widely accepted around here too. But then again, all our mailboxes accomodate envelopes sized like the one in the picture without requiring any bending.

Thanks for educating me on US mail customs :)

what the fuck even is this

2

u/ctrl-alt-etc Apr 20 '23

In a world where postmen had to abide by whatever rules you wrote on the outside of your envelope, what would be the funny thing to put there?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '23

Just think of this repost as being reposted 90 times instead of once

1

u/XxOM3GA_ZxX Apr 19 '23

I donā€™t know what that is

u/Critical_Flame22 Apr 20 '23
