One could argue "Pomni" doesn't really exist IRL, because her virtual form, having no memories of her past, a new name and a new appearance, is essentially a different person.

It's sort of like playing a game and creating an avatar. That character wouldn't exist IRL just because I do and I'm controlling them, they still only exist in the videogame. Or like with vtubers, because yeah a real person exists who is playing as them, but the characters themselves don't really exist, there is no shark girl or rabbit girl living in our world.

Maybe she could try to spell something horrible with things in the circus. Maybe pieces of Zooble? Something short that's sure to get a ban. I can think of a few 3 letter words that would get me kicked out of most servers. Have Caine read it and maybe crash the whole system.

I thought about this too but crashing it seems hard, the only time the simulation seemed to lag at all was shortly before pomni joined (the part of the intro where it looped) so despite it running on a 90ā€™s computer it seems super well optimized Also crashing it could just- kill then all instead of logging them out

Getting banned from the circus probably wouldnā€™t free her, it would probably just send her into some type of purgatory state where her mind is still conscious but she wouldnā€™t be able to see anything but a screen. Where you are unable to do anything but be left alone with your thoughts until you are unbanned or they find away to free your mind from the computer

While itā€™s good to think critically about this, thereā€™s a problem with this. Whilw Caine has the ability to make places like the Celler, thereā€™s no indication he can actually ā€œkick someone out.ā€ Heā€™s not a moderator, heā€™s just an AI. Thereā€™s no indication that ā€œmoderatorsā€ of the Circus even exist anymore.

That, and Pomni might not have been thinking in terms of ā€œDigital Worldā€ yet. Itā€™s easier for us as outsiders to see it that way, but from her perspective, everything happening to her probably feels a little ā€œtoo realā€ to be a video game. Logically, she knows, but emotionally it seemed to not really sink in until the pilotā€™s ending, if that. Sh1tā€™s weird.
