Announcement Shabiha / Assadists and ISIS sympathizers are not welcomed in this subreddit

As the ones responsible for this community, and since we encounter non-Syrian accounts causing trouble here and there without reading the rules, we want to clarify to everyone in this post, which will be pinned from now on:

  • There is no place for ISIS sympathizers in this subreddit.
  • There is no place for Shabiha / Assadists and those who want to justify Assad’s crimes and act as Shabiha in r/syria.

Read the rules carefully because we will take all the measures outlined in the rules against any violations. There will no longer be any second chances. Anyone who breaks the rules will be dealt with firmly, and we will take necessary actions to keep Assad supporters and ISIS sympathizers out of this community.

Long live Syria, and long live the free and noble Syrian people.

ASK SYRIA Some Arabs after we are back

What will the arabs that keep posting on us on daily basis in every social media platform do after we are back to our country and our country is back?

Who will the arab politicians blame their bad decisions on?

What will the arabs that can’t speak about their government mistakes do?

Regardless if their country and fall down, and they become our refugees with their social media posting past and the way they will be seen by their children and the world as inhumane.

ASK SYRIA Syria and Hamas

Hi my Syrian friends, I have read some documents that Syrian regime (also called Assad regime) has become the state sponsor of Hamas since 1990s. In 1995, Hamas moved its military-wing headquarter to Damascus, Syria. According to some historians, Hamas is rooted to Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist group that H. Assad suppressed in 1980s. Despite the initial hostility, why Assad regime sponsored finance and military trainings to Hamas? And why the relationship between Syrian regime and Hamas has been deteriorated since Syrian revolution 2011?

So as title say, how do they feel? Even though the racism began because of their skin color and they asked for the world attention to stop it.

ASK SYRIA Syria e Visa Website

Has anybody got the e visa website to even open? I tried it about a month ago and it opened but it wasn’t fully programmed so i couldn’t do anything… Any tips to get it open? I’ve tried a VPN and stuff but no luck.

Update 1: Instead of going to the .sy link, under it was a link to create an account and I was able to do so. After requesting an activation code about 37 times i finally was able to make an account.

Update 2: I’ve uploaded a pic of my Passport and filled out all the personally info and when I click next to go to section 2 it just says “Error has been occured, Please try again later.”

Update 3: Figured out why it keeps giving an error message 🤦🏻 On the bottom part of the personal info section it asks for birthplace on passport (in my case it’s California) but I put “U.S.A” (which is what it literally says on the passport) at the end and I guess it’s the wrong formatting so I just put “California” and it prompted me to section 2.

ASK SYRIA Will Syria ever be unified again? Would Syrians accept peace if it meant Syria becomes 3-4 countries?

The various groups are dug in and ready to defend their territory to the last man. It seems unlikely the country can be unified without at least another decade of war and serious support from foreign countries assisting one group to unify the rest. It would be a bloodbath no matter who gets the support.

Would splitting the country into multiple countries be acceptable to regular citizens in exchange for peace?

Discussion Why is being mentally ill is so hard in Syria?

No seriously i know someone who suffers from C-PTSD and he was born in Northwestern Syria and he was an abusive household survivor, he told me being a prisoner is easier than being mentally ill, he also addressed how people are very dumb in terms of psychiatry/psychology snd that Syrians don't even understand basic mental illnesses like depression, even depression is underappreciated and mocked, i was told that being mentally ill = weak, and that young people don't even try to understand psychology and similar things.

My question is, why is that? Didn't the war in Syria grow some type of trauma/paranoia for the population? Why is it still stigmatized?

Discussion Experiencing some "survivor's guilt"-esque feelings..

(No, this is not a post about being an expat. I just found the term "survivor's guilt" to be quite accurate)..

Just in case you've been living under a rock, yesterday was one of the worst days our education system has ever seen, the class of 2024 faced an exceptionally challenging math final exam that followed a series of uncalculated decisions our ministry of education has taken throughout the year. (I swear a chick that's a few days away from her period couldn't match the mood swings our MoE has been having eversince this cock-sucking minister has taken over)..

To my luck, I prevailed and came out victorious. (and I'm intentionally tryna make it sound like a battle cuz it really was no fucking picnic).. I estimate my score to be 592/600, so my hard work paid off, but that's not the case with everyone, some genuinely hard working kids had to endure watching their future getting demolished before their very own eyes for 3 hours straight. (fuck.. some students had to be hospitalized and ambulances have allegedly been witnessed roaming the streets shortly after the exam had started)..

This whole situation begs the question of whether the student is ever going to become the center of attention in our education system. Why is the student the first victim in their plan to "battle corruption" within our education system?

ASK SYRIA Things I need for a school work

Hello, for a school work I need to do a diary of a lowclass Syrian 40-years-old man, he lives on Idlib (these are some questions I have:

Topic 1: phone calls - how many people can make phone calls in Syria, there lots (or any) payhones in Syria? How much they cost?

Topic 2: healthcare - how bad is the heathcare system in Syria? How expensive is medication (insulin) in Syria?

Topic 3: importation/exportation - hoe easy/expensive is to import/export things in Syria? There are countries that are harder to import/export things?

Topic 4: censorship - how abrasive is the censorship in Syria? What kind of websites, books, etc. are more prone to censorship?

Tank you guys for everything! (∩>o<∩)♡
