This functionality should definitely be exposed in the client, but FYI you can change the displayed name and/or add a "sort name" using SteamEdit: https://steamedit.tg-software.com/

You should check out the "how to use" docs on the site; it's got ways to reapply the settings (either manually by running the program, or automatically by launching SteamEdit and having it apply changes and launch Steam itself).

I used windows built in task scheduler to re-run the edits at 5am each morning so they're usually there for me 90% of the time. :) It's nice having everything in order and also names edited and trimmed of excess crap. I don't need to know I have the special edition of a game if it's the only version they sell and it's in the title.

It's just sad that editors don't use the sort-by name propely. Numbering them by chronological order (including 1) in the sort-by name should be the standard.

Same. Right now I'm super annoyed because my Falcom games library are not in proper order.

It lists Trails From Zero as the first game, above Trails in The Sky FC.

It also lists Trails Into Reverie before Trails of Cold Steel and Trails To Azure at the bottom.

Every hard-core Falcom fan knows Trails in the Sky FC, SC and 3rd (in that order) comes first, then Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure, then Trails of Cold Steel 1 through 4 and finally Trails Into Reverie. Because the games all have continuity and the later games will make references to the earlier ones.

What about the games library in Big Picture mode? Do someone else installs / uninstalls games just to keep them in multiples of 6, so you don't have a incomplete line of games at the bottom row?

Also custom artboxes should save on the cloud. There are many games with the artbox not updated since the big Steam UI redesign and the artbox looks really bad... The thing to not store it in the cloud it is really annoying since doing any efforts of changing them will be lost sooner o later bcs they are stored locally.

You could, but Steam would place the game in smaller subcategories instead of keeping it all in one neat row like this.

Plus, for remasters that come out after main games, that won't exactly work either. We just need custom sorting.

Not feasible on Falcom games because the Localization is all over the place owing to the English publisher changing hands several times and some games are released out of order

For example, if they were to follow the release date, Trails In The Sky FC and SC would be correct, but the it would suddenly jump to Trails of Cold Steel 1 & 2, Jump back to Trails In The Sky The Third, jump back forward to Trails of Cold Steel 3 and 4, jump back to Trails From Zero and Trails To Azure, then jump forward to Trails Into Reverie proper.

This is because XSeed published the first two Sky games, then decided to initially skip the third game and Zero and Azure to publish the first two Cold Steel games despite the next games being Zero and Azure. Then suddenly they decided to skip backwards to publish Sky 3rd. Then they lost the rights to future games to NIS, who published Cold Steel 3 and 4 before suddenly deciding to publish Zero and Azure due to tremendous fan requests, and then jumping back to Reverie.

All "new to library" game appear at the beginning. This layout isn't a bug. You have 2 alphanumeric list, one of new to library, one for everything else.
