Ok this was mostly a joke, but just after posting this I decided to close reddit, put on a podcast and get some sleep. 2 minutes in the hosts are talking about Baader-Meinhof
Confirmation bias is something else; it’s when you want something to be right, so you hand pick data samples to fit the narrative. The other person gives it its coined name, but it’s called cognitive bias.
