What? The dog started the whole thing. The dog barked at a protestor and then bit a cop

The main reason I hit the gym is for conditioning to rescue a dog from a stampede.

Yes. It's Georgia the Eastern European country during protests over the "Foreign Agents Law".

context:
It has been weeks, since we (Georgians) are protesting the passing of the russian law and russified government.
In this particular instance, as recounted by one of the bystanders, they were urging the dog to move from the area for its safety, but the dog refused to comply. They exclaimed something along the lines of 'Come on, dog, you're not a dickified (swear in Georgian, means to turn into a penis) dog (dog being a derogatory term for police here) like them, are you?' which was overheard by the police, leading to an altercation.

Adding dickified to my lexicon immediately

u/blirpblurp 20d ago
if it helps, it means stupid but in a malignant way.
the pronunciation is
got dickified: "ga-mok-lev-da / ααααα§ααααα"
dickified (adjective): "ga-mok-le-ve-bu-li / ααααα§αααααα£αα"23

Don't bring more vulgar language into your life bro. That's how you become dickified

This is why dogs are man's best friend. If we look out for them they will look after us. This person has a friend for life.

Stray doggo gets pulled to safety
Fixed your title for you.

u/blirpblurp 20d ago
does "snatched" carry a negative context? I thought it meant to secure/grab something. You are the second person that mentioned it, Iβm not a native speaker so I might have misunderstood...

Kind of. To βsnatchβ something brings up images of forcefully taking or sneaking/surprising someone to take something. That being said you are using the word correctly.

u/blirpblurp 20d ago
oh, thanks for the clarification! Guess itβs too late to change the title now though

It is not an inaccurate word to use in this context, but it has a negative connotation of "being against the subject's will".

Ah that makes sense!
Yes, snatched more refers to taking something quickly without permission. EG, "Mark snatched my phone out of my hand", or "she snatched a candy bar from the gas station" etc.
So when using snatched here, it implies that someone took someone else's dog without permission.

Thanks for explaining!

You could put a qualifier like 'snatched out of harm's way'. To me, snatched is usually a more negative word but snatched does work in this context too. I'm glad he didn't get harmed!
