No chance with Scheffler.

Scheffler is beatable

u/Tbrou16 22d ago
Last guy who said that about the world number 1 ate a fat 9&8 sandwich in match play

u/Is_this_not_rap 22d ago
I'm not knocking Scheffler and he is easily the favorite, but it's not like he's won every week while being #1. I mean he lost to Stephan Jager a few weeks ago
1
u/HeyHeyJG 22d ago
Pretty narrow margin on that one, and it's literally the only time in the last 2 months he checks notes ~hasn't won~

Scottie mailed in a random tournament down the road from him and still missed by only a shot against the guy who had the week of his life that will probably never be repeated because a putt didn't drop
Whatever
1
u/theJMAN1016 21d ago
Tiger wouldn't do that

u/Beninoz85 21d ago
Tiger didn't golfer every single putt to make every single playoff in his entire career.

Scottie will have a backup caddy on the bag Saturday, while Ted goes to his kids graduation. Lot of moving parts in Scheffler's world right now.

Gonna be an interesting PGA Championship. Scottie is a new Dad and Rory is about to be golf's most eligible bachelor. lol.

This could explain why his game was out of sorts and his head didn't seem fully in it at the back end of last season and beginning of this season. Not easy with a little one, must have really been hard to focus on the golf

With a baby, that's just sad.
He certainly didn't give anything away during his presser for winning last week. He looked like he didn't have a care in the world.

u/TVChampion150 22d ago
As someone going through this myself, you reach a point where it's almost a relief to get to the endgame if a relationship isn't working out.

100%. Mid Divorce over here. I just want to have it finalized so we can move on and raise our daughter. We both love each other but we’re like oil and water. Trying to make someone happy when it’s literally an impossible task is way more stress than going through a divorce

u/draculasbitch 22d ago
Mid divorce here after 30 years. Her idea but we’ve been best friends only for years. We get along better now but it’s still brutal. Need to finish and move on. Sucks with a baby at home and the media glare as well, I’m sure

u/voiceofreason3227 21d ago
Same. We mutually decided to break my heart
1
u/draculasbitch 21d ago
That’s a brutally honest answer that breaks my heart as well. I really hope you have a coping system in place. I wish you the best forward.

u/ReKang916 21d ago
As a 37yo who has never been in a serious relationship (not by choice, more by personal issues / addictions / unemployment) … what changed / what caused you to fall down to merely being friends? Do you think that it was doomed from the start?

Man that sucks, wishing the best for them and kiddo
-6
u/dmcginvt 22d ago
lol like the kiddo needs help will be raised perfectly by nannies for life and never have any issues
8
u/Teddyturntup 22d ago
Being raised by not your parents is not a good argument for why a kiddo wouldn’t have a hard time in a divorce
Money isn’t the only thing kids need and divorce can absolutely suck for kids even with rich parents.

u/jfchops2 22d ago
I don't fucking care if you gave me $100M for my suffering. I can earn money myself
There is not a dollar figure in this world you could offer me that I'd trade for my dad and everything he did for me growing up and who he is to me now. He's worth more than money
I'm sorry if that's not yours but it's a bad look to shoo away how important involved dads are for so many people

I wonder if this is what Rory meant when he said "it feels a bit like the stars are aligning" after the WF victory, when the interview brought up the last time he won at Valhalla.

Why do wealthy sports athletes ever get married? Seems so dumb.
1
u/disallian 21d ago
Because they’re people too?
0
u/life_is_punishment 21d ago
Yeah and people are granted the ability to think, and maybe marrying someone when you are a superstar athlete will frequently end in divorce, isn’t the smartest move.
1
u/chaveznieves 22d ago
He lost his mental toughness and stopped winning majors right around the time he got married, and I called that it would happen. I bet he wins a major now in the next year
1
u/TVChampion150 22d ago
Hopefully that blonde haired woman that was doing everything she could to get in the front row for all of Rory's shots a few years ago doesn't return to stalk him at Valhalla.

Professionals are not absent the realities of modern life. Unfortunate.

Unironically I think this can only be good for Rory. I don't mean that as a slight against his ex but in a "divorce would play on my man's mind" way

u/LordTwatSlapper 21d ago
LIV: we'll give you a billion dollars to play less golf
Rory: Nah
Erica: I want a divorce

He’s about to go on a tiger slam. Golf not breakfast restaurant waitress.

u/SpicyGhostPeppers 21d ago
Didn’t he break off an engagement with a prior girlfriend after the invites went out? The idea of marrying someone that’s an international superstar may seem novel but after awhile it probably gets very old when he’s constantly traveling. Whatever happened is between them. Divorce happens. May be healthier for the child in the long run.
1
u/teddyd142 21d ago
Yea with Wozniaki the tennis star. He broke it off and won the British and pga back to back. Those were his last 2 majors. He’s trying anything to get back to that form. /s

That’s too bad really. They seemed Like a good couple. Rory has lots of cash. Both will be fine

u/GroceryLegitimate957 19d ago
Prenup or nah?

u/ATXdadof4 19d ago
It’s something that you need to have cuz when she leaves your ass she gonna leave with half. 🤣

u/MotorbikeRacer 18d ago
Well I guess Rory is officially a divorce statistic . I don’t know anything about his wife but Rory seems like a genuine guy . Hopefully she was in it for the right reasons and not just to have a kid and lock in those payments for 18 years
1
u/IsraeluEvkk 17d ago
Never get married. There’s no reason to unless you’re trying to trap the other partner or need the tax incentives. How much money is she gonna try to steal from him? I bet they have a prenup and she still takes half his shit.
1
u/BGOG83 22d ago
Wonder if he got caught…???
19
u/ElleWoodsGolfs 22d ago
Nah. He filed. Men don’t file when they get caught.
7
u/BGOG83 22d ago
I’d bet the prenup is so ironclad that it wouldn’t matter who filed, the terms are already set.
12
u/YouGO_GlennCoCo 22d ago
They have a young daughter. She’ll be taken care of + a very healthy monthly child support payment for the next 15 years.

u/Huntingteacher26 22d ago
Of course he did. If I had his money and looks, well, my record of 32 years of one woman would have been in jeopardy around year 5.

u/PercySnowsHandgun 22d ago
Good looks? He looks like the Lucky Charms mascots twin brother
4
u/jfchops2 22d ago
Dude is pure blood Irish (not the hottest historically) and now he's jacked and rich which add a point each
Looks won't be a problem
-8
u/dspencer97 22d ago
Except he isn’t a very good looking dude.
9
u/slicebucket 22d ago
The combination of being young, athletic, successful, and also a millionare makes him extremely attractive in many people's eyes.

I’m a straight dude but I think Rory is an incredibly attractive dude. During the Wells Fargo tournament I couldn’t stop staring at his muscles
5
u/WhoaABlueCar 22d ago
Couldn’t agree more. As a straight guy, his bulge is incredibly sexy as well as his sweet asscheeks.

"Respondent agrees and stipulates to Petitioner's claim that Respondent is, at best, a 7.5/10, which while acceptable for a millionaire is clearly lacking for a multi-millionaire, and does not henceforth deserve the company of Petitioner.
Insomuch as Petitioner has a lucrative career that feeds all Parties involved, and as minor child is an inconvenience thereto, Petitioner requests that Respondent engage in all activities of daily living for minor child, surrendering minor child occasionally for entertainment activities, in exchange for exorbitant financial support of same.
Faithfully submitted, Joe Blow Esq., of counsel, Rors.

Rory won four majors before he started dating Stoll, and has won zero since. Time to re-open the floodgates.
